My $200 Greenhouse. It's 10" x 28' It really is quite simple in design and construction. There are 15 ribs consisting of two 3/4 inch 10 foot PVC. A handful of (maybe two handfuls) of T connectors. And some miscellaneous wood. It took me 2 1/2 days to get it put up. The plastic was the most expensive almost half the cost. It's a guaranteed four-year greenhouse plastic. I got a put up late in the season so I didn't get much use of it this year. I'm hoping to put it to good use, late winter or early spring

Can't complain about the price if it really holds up for 4 years.
Being nosey, what are the white buckets?

here to stay, Future home of the melon patch, with a bit of corn added I have to say I really LIKED the company! When I ordered the cover I asked for 20'wide by 30' long.... the menu I ordered from was the 20'wide and they would cut to length... when I laid it out it was 20'long.... I thought they had made a huge OOPS... so I called, they were right on it. We will take care of it, let me call the warehouse. I had made the OOPS... they use the end of a roll and gave me about 8' extra. But they call me back in 15 min with the answer. For that alone, I will order from them again

I really fancy making something like that, but I'm not sure how well it would do in the wind we get here, the parents in law bought a pair of the cheap ones metal frames green plastic covers, they didn't survive even a moderate storm, got turned inside out, they now have a huge commercial one, that does just fine but it cost $25k not including land leveling etc (that's way more than my house!)

Skandi, Last week we had several days of pretty bad winds. Our acurite weather station showed a 30 MPH gust. Now the greenhouse is a bit away from weather station and is also protected by the shed. But for three days it got battered by high winds and it came out just fine. If you look in the doorway you can see a 4 x 4 tied into the door. And the 1x4 slats really firm it up, it's pretty rocksolid. If you're really concerned about the wind you could drop a couple 4 x 4's and time into the top piece.

Hmms, we just had 4 days of 30mph winds gusting to 50, we'll spend 3-4 weeks at that windspeed each winter, and at least one storm that will hit 70mph gusts the field is a bit better sheltered than the house. Just been looking at buying them, a cheap one runs under 200 but I know they won't survive, and the next stage up jumps to $2000. I do wonder about making one with a removable cover, more work but we only really get the high winds in the winter...

I have a similar shaped and sized greenhouse DH made two about ten years ago. 80 mph winds took one. The other one is anchored properly. The curved shape lets the wind move over the plastic, like a teepee.

@thewolf, what company did you order the plastic from?
How hard was it to build? I'd love to have one but most likely, it would be me trying to do it by myself.

@thewolf, thank you so much for the info. My last attempt using PVC pipe did not fair well and is now in pieces!

@thewolf, Looks great. I tried making one from a few pieces of PVC, tied to T posts and then put wire cattle panels on them. It worked ok for a tarped animal shelter and I always intended to redo it for a greenhouse, but it would need modifications. I like yours! We also get winds, constantly. My friend bought a DIY from Harbor Freight, putting it on her concrete slab just outside their old dairy barn. The first wind came over the top of the barn, exploded the hard plastic panels of the greenhouse and sent them flying. Just not sturdy enough for here. What kind of door do you have?

I buy our cover from Northern Greenhouse Sales and had a similar experience with a larger than ordered piece. The nice thing about the NGS plastic is that it's actually woven and heat treated to close the mesh. It holds up very well as in we've used one piece for 10 years. We remove it in late spring and replace it in the fall. We used the extruded plastic sheeting sold for greenhouses the first 2 years we had the structures. After that, they were brittle tatters. I don't know the source of that plastic so can't address the quality of what you bought.
Regardless, you will really enjoy your hoop house. We've had ours about 20 years and we get so much use from them.
