I sent the horses out to grass today. Only 3 hours and only in the area where the goats have kept it trimmed but tails went up and a bit of running happened. All winter they are stuck in a 100 ft by150 foot paddock because it is so wet that there are only islands of firm ground most of the winter.
I dragged out the electronet temporary fencing and cordoned off most of the real slop. That stuff is so useful but a pain to put up. I must remember to turn the hotwire back on when I go out for evening feed. It won't take long for the goats to start testing it.
But Ah! Spring at last.

Today will be the first day I turn out my 2 new fillies with their mommas. They are 3 weeks old, it will be a fun video day!
I am so glad it is spring, I love all of the growing things and so enjoy the sunshine. I am such a "summer" person! I wouldn't survive in a really cold, wintry place. North Central Texas is as cold as I can take:-)

I think the spring weather makes everyone, human and animal, feel wonderful. Just remember, you have to go through the winter to truly appreciate the summer!
Of course, in a few short weeks we'll all be complaining about the heat and humidity!
But for now, I'm going to enjoy our 70 degree, rain free days. At least until tomorrow night when another storm will come through! But at least it won't be snow!!!!
