DH went to lunch with his DS, at a restaurant and had a Juicy Lucy. He says, get this, 'I bet you don't know what that is'. I say, oh you mean a burger stuffed with cheese, um, yeah.
Now I'll have to make these you know!
A thin round of ground beef. on the top and middle of that, cheese. Another thin round of ground beef on top. Then join the top and bottom layers and try to get the whole thing the same thickness.
Then cook on the grill or in a screaming hot fry pan.
I wonder if I can find cheese to do that?!?
Optionally, add bbq sauce to the middle cheese part. Put worcestershire sauce on the outside then some seasoned salt before cooking.
I'm pretty sure I'll have to make these. Let me know if you do.
If you come up with a vegetarian bean burger juicy lucy, I wanna hear about it.

I like to use shredded cheddar when I make them, Its easier to work with then the sliced cheeses. While velveta is not really cheese in my book, it does make for a creamier cheese middle.

I love Juicy Lucys as long as I'm patient. Biting in too quickly can be hazardous to your mouth. Don't ask how I know this... feather , I'm intrigued by the idea of a vegetarian Juicy Lucy. I think I'll try it this weekend. The bean burger part will be the challenge, I think - I mean, getting the two patties to stay together. I normally use a modified version of Pioneer Woman's black bean burgers, so if I can get thinner ones to hold together so I can slap some pepper jack cheese between them and get it to melt, this has the potential to be really good.
