Hello all!
So I have tried googling and get nowhere for the information I have found. We need to replace our ceramic nonstick fry pan. I have had 3-4 in the past few years, not totally happy with any of them.
The main issue I end up with is that all of them get curved bottoms fairly quickly- either bowing upwards/inwards or rounding outwards. There seems to be no formula to it that would lead me to believe it is our stove or us. (Which is a glass cooktop, if that makes a difference.)
I don't mind spending up to $50 or so if it means that I don't have to buy another, since I only want one. 11-12 inches preferred. Definitely ceramic on its food cooking surface. Coming with a lid doesn't matter since most of those are fairly universal.
I am thinking it needs to be fairly heavy and flat bottomed, which is hard to tell in so many of the reviews. I bought one recently from Walmart and on its 3rd use, the bottom curved significantly. We do not use them above medium temperature if that. And I make sure to use the burner that makes the whole bottom hot so as to prevent uneven heating and expansion.
Anyone have any thoughts or recommendations?
Thanks in advance!

Yep. Shop around in charity stores or antiques places for a couple nice, vintage cast iron skillets. If you can find Griswold (or Erie), all the better. Properly seasoned and cleaned between uses, they are "non-stick".

I have quite a few cast iron pans. My husband does not like our daughter to use them as she isn't careful to not move it around on the stove and he worries about it getting scratched.

When we went to oil-less frying, we had to switch from our cast iron pans to newly-purchased non-stick pans. I am not sure if the ones we have are ceramic, but they sure work well and have not warped over the past year that we have used them. Tramontina Commercial Non-Stick Restaurant Fry Pan

Bi-Mart sells these. Tried all 3 non sticks. Didn't like the white coated one, it stuck bad from the start. It was our first non-stick in 20 years and being used to cast iron and wood stove, we had heat way too hot. We have the copper one now, really have to keep the heat low or it sticks a little when cooking without oil, also discolors quickly. Have had several of the dark coating, like them real well. Heavy, never warp. I have heard with the glass top stoves need to keep heat lower or they will warp even the heavy pans when cooking with a dry pan. I only use butter or bacon grease. We paid less than $10.00 each for the 8" pans, the dark coated Ecolution Artistry saute pans are $7.99 for 8", 9 1/2" is 9.99, 11" is 12.99, this weeks coupon book, on sale pretty regular. These are the only nonstick we have had and we are frugal but very happy with the dark coating. I only use soft utensils and clean with dish brush, no real scrubbing....James www.ecolutionhome.com/ecolution-kitchen/healthiest-cooking-pans/

I do a lot of cooking, but I don't have a recommendation of a ceramic non-stick pan. We have one non-stick frying pan, which DH uses for eggs. This is an inexpensive one which can be replaced for a few dollars if it starts to lose it's non-stick surface. It's at least 4 years old now. Other than that, we have a cast iron frying pan (but a gas stove).
We have a heavy bottomed stainless steel frying pan (hard to believe but it is warped and I still like it, it is very old), a regular 6 qt stainless steel pot, a triple bottomed stainless steel 5 qt pot, 2 2-qt pans that are stainless steel, one triple bottomed and one regular. These pans are where I do the majority of cooking.
Sorry, I can't help with a recommendation.

Two years ago I bought a CeraPan. I think I got it at Meijer's. It is heavy and I use it more often than any other pan. I make hamburgers, eggs, and sautée vegetables in it.

See what America's Test Kitchen recommends. They will very seldom be wrong.

Thanks for all the recommendations everyone! Bear Foot Farm, I didn't even think of that! All the ones being recommended via these websites look like junk, so that definitely helps!

I found one! Two really. Costco randomly had the Gotham Steel brand when I went once. $40 for 2 pans- 1 is 12 inch 1 is 10, I think. They are super heavy for the metal they are- to the point they take forever to heat up! And they are the type with the true flat bottom, not the rounded. Have used them for a while now- doing great!
