The whole thing started when Ozarks Tom and his bride were out here to visit. They informed us that, when they were coming down the road, they saw our girl, a Pyrenees/Anatolian cross, visiting with the neighbor's boy, Mongo, a pure Pyr.
Now, we'd already decided that we were going to breed Caili, just not so darned soon. Goofy teenaged dogs...
January 4, we had 6 live pups.
First pup to leave the stead was Lady Ethel. She went to Ozarks Tom, and at last report, was growing like a weed and learning her place in that pack.
Next to leave was Emma. She lacked the assertive nature of a good LGD, so she went to my sister to be trained as a therapy dog. The poor thing was shocked to move into a house, but is already housebroken and learning to love the life of ease in my sister's household. Heck, I should live half as well as my sister's dogs!
Ernie and Edith went to a farm an hour or so northwest of here. I get updates a couple of times a week, and we are becoming friendly with the family who bought the pair. They are tickled with the pups' quick intelligence, and already have them better trained than the parent dogs!
Yesterday, I sold Ellie, a lovely 3 month old, forty pound fuzzball, to a couple near Branson. There, she has a couple of mini-aussie dogs and another LGD pup with whom to protect a herd of meat goats. They love her, and she seems okay there. Poor goober got car sick on her way home.
It looks like the last pup, Eddie, will be gone by the end of the week. He is a love, and I am pleased that he is going to a home that has had a lot of experience raising giant breeds. They think he's the bomb-diggity, and I agree. If I was going to keep a pup from this litter, it would have been Eddie.
The were a fair amount of work, but I sure did get used to having them around...
