Last night we went to see The Biggest Little Farm. Very enjoyable. All about an LA couple who buy a played out, 200acre orchard so they wouldn't have to give up their dog and could grow all kinds of food and livestock. Naturally, being Los Angelinos, they got investors to bankroll them. So you have to curb your urge to say, "Oh, yeah? And how much did THAT cost? Wished I'd had that kinda dough... Hmmph." And they got WOOFERs to work the land with them - - ain't it nice to have 20 extra hands to do the chores?! And it's a tad Hallmark for my tastes, but still, for homesteaders, it sure hits a lot of ghe right notes. Go see it.

Just how many years of toxic sprays is all through that soil.

I know! That soil was just dead dead dead. You saw the movie, then? What did you think?

No snoozy, I don't need to see the movie to know old orchard soil is full of nasty stuff.
