I'm not sure how I did this as my allergies were *horrible* this year ... May was a blur! But somehow I got this all rolled out in between sneezing (and working my 3 jobs, blargh).
I pulled this nice little bench out of the trash last fall! Couldn't wait to put it to good use.
Here's the back side of the island in the foreground:
And the back side of the flower cart:
My little "tea party garden" along the front of the house:
As always, thanks to Numb for picking up my slack so I could do all of this!

What a ton of work and what a good eye you have as far as the colors and textures and such... you do a fantastic job girl! And kudos to Numb as well! You gotta a good guy there - I guess you already knew that! Take care you two, ~Mari

I have never lived near a town/city with curbside freebies. You really have a knack with design and a green thumb!!

Thanks! The part of Michigan I lived in was like that. Those thrifty Dutch would totally wear a thing out and THEN donate it to the church rummage sale! Pittsburgh area is a scavenger's paradise, though. Hardly a week goes by that I don't haul something home off the curb. Psst, anyone in the market for a nice 4-drawer cherry dresser? Heh!

I look forward to your pics each year of your "fairy land" garden. You love your plants and have a real touch for making it special and attractive. It's like a dream garden spot. I could sit on the bench and just take it all in for a long while. I love the added pieces, your little tea party. Who would think of that, except you? It's very special and so peaceful to look at. Thanks for sharing each year...

Thanks!!
I'll warn you though that if you sit on that bench for more than 15 seconds, you'll be mobbed by our love-starved barncats, lol.

GREAT!!! You make me feel guilty...not one flower in a pot...when it snows in late May I really get behind. I think that's next week project but the garden is mostly planted.

Well hopefully we're getting a small respite, as our hay guy mowed his fields yesterday!

Willow; I know how much work it is to maintain those container plants. Either Numb needs no sleep or you are Superwoman. I don't know how the two of you can hold jobs and still keep that display looking like a botanical garden.

Ox, I work THREE jobs! I put in three 14-hour days last week. When I hear people complain they don't have time for stuff, I just shake my head! I like creating stuff, though. I've never been able to stand watching TV; my attention span is just too short. Always gotta be doing something! My mother was the same way, and the older I get, the more I'm like her ... A new pic, just taken this morn ... the baker's rack beside the barn door. Setcreasia, sedum, coleus, geraniums, a spider plant, impatiens, a jade tree, sweet potato vine ... what else is in there? I can't remember. When I take everything apart in the fall, sometimes I find plants in the back row that I'd forgotten about. LOL

I planted 'Grandpa Ott's" morning glories on the beanhouse this year. I have a feeling that, having grown these once, I'll never need to purchase seed again, lol. Kira in the birdbath.

Thanks Mari!
The flamingos help to keep the cats from using that raised bed as a litter box, lol. (I got a huge box of them in a yard sale a couple years ago for $5.)

A wonderland I'd love to walk through! In the first pic, the purple one in the pot, we call it "Wandering Jew" I have one huge one too, that I keep cutting and routing and make it really full. I can't start any more new house plants, I have over 25 and as you know, that alone is a lot of work putting out in summer and taking in...in fall. I really love the love you put into your place willowgirl, it really shows!

Kira is actually ornery and doesn't much care to be petted, lol. The rest of our barncats (besides the two feral toms who show up for free meals) are love-starved cuddle bugs. If you sit down for 5 minutes in our yard, you'll be mobbed by cats desperate for affection, lol.
Edited to add (looks like we were posting at the same time): Thanks Woodpecker! I have a ton of "wandering Jew" here, too! I used it in some of the window boxes this year, along with ageratum.
