My bush bean plants have runners that are waist-high. I didn't plant pole beans by accident. Only had ONE seed in an old packet, and planted it elsewhere. Should I put up a few strings? wires? tomato wires I'm not using? for them to climb around anyway?

I've had bush beans do that, particularly Blue Lake.

No, they put those short runners out and then they quit.

Several of us got pole beans that were supposed to be bush beans from Baker Creek last year.

Several of us got pole beans that were supposed to be bush beans from Baker Creek last year. Which could also be the problem. I guess the question becomes at what point would put bean poles up?
