The wallow has a maximum four-cow capacity. As soon as one climbs out, another wades in ...

Thanks Mari! And yes, they are happy girls. Picture was taken on Sunday while we were doing barn chores. They all came in from the far pasture and had a drink and wallow while waiting for us to put out their feed. On weekdays I bring home TMR from work, but on weekends they get a 50 lb. bag of sweet feed to share. In the picture, they're all intently watching Numb, who usually carries the bag out to the feeder, so they keep a close eye on him! Photographing the girls is sometimes challenging as often Georgia's nose is in the way. LOL

If I had a backhoe I could make that pool much bigger... but for now we'll have to let foot traffic and the regular flooding at that point to wash it out bigger.
Since they discovered that spot its a real popular resting pool.

Thanks! They are all fat and sassy. It was starting to dry out here so we gave them a round bale over the weekend to make sure they were getting enough to eat. It rained last night, so hopefully we'll get a flush of fresh green grass for them over the next couple days. Numb has been keeping the pastures mowed to knock down the weeds that took over last summer while we were waiting to close on the property. It was completely overgrown by the time we took possession! Looks much better this year.

Noooo, it's not worth risking it! Calving is the most dangerous time in cow's life and I really have no use for calves ... I'd end up keeping them and then there would be even more big hungry mouths to feed.
