It time to paint the house this fall, our house is limestone so the paint is needed on window trim, soffit and a couple peaks. I used dutch man brand last time and duribilty was disappointment. What brand would you recommend.

I have concrete blocks. Nothing seems to last. This time Intried an elastometric paint from Behr. I’m hoping it endures.

I would recommend using a good brand of solid color stain. You can use it over old paint or bare wood. The nice thing about solid color stain is that it doesn't peel like paint does.
So, once you prepare the surface by removing all the loose paint, just brush on the stain. What will happen is that after a few years the old paint under the stain will peel. Then you go through the process again. Eventually, you'll have nothing but non-peeling solid color stain on your wood surfaces.

I've been using Behr Ultra exterior latex. Pressure washing and scraping anything loose, then applying Behr All-Surface primer. Had good results with them.

Yes, stain breathes, paint doesn't, so any moisture that does get in can't get out. Houses need to breathe, even house wrap is made to breathe, out....James
