Oh my, it's always something new with my crazy chickens... The last few weeks one of my Buff Orp roos has become enamored with Busty. He follows her everywhere! It is just too cute. Her name is Busty due to the fact she has always had a pretty big crop - you get the drift. Well, about a week ago he decided to start spending the nights with her as well - naughty boy! He no longer goes into his own coop at night - instead he goes into hers and is always by her side. Thankfully, he and the other roo that lives in there are getting along. The only other time I had a chicken decide to change where they were staying was my precious Girl - the gal in my avatar. Couple of pics from yesterday... Last evening after lock-up... I have to wonder if there are any of you out there that have multiple coops and have had this happen? ~Mari

Mari-in-IN, are they married or is this an unholy union? Beautiful chickens.

Mari-in-IN , are they married or is this an unholy union? Beautiful chickens. So far, from what I have observed (or haven't - hee hee) their relationship seems to be purely platonic. If that changes we may just have to have a little ceremony and make an honest hen out of her. Thanks for the compliment. I think all of my chickens are beautiful... ~Mari

That is so adorable! Maybe you'll be able to have a good relationship with Busty, like you did with your Precious girl. I know it's not the same, but maybe she'll become a favorite of yours, too. They're both really pretty and handsome

They're both really pretty and handsome Quite honestly my friend - she's not really one of my favorites. Why - you ask? Because when she eats she bills out feed like nobody's business! I mean, it is beyond ridiculous! Like, what does she think, that chicken feed grows on trees? I don't have anyone else here that bills out feed. I guess she is more than making up for it since she is the only one out of 39 chickens pulling these shenanigans... And thanks for the compliment. I just love the way the Buff Orp roos look. Beautiful. By the way, Busty was hatched out here but I'm not quite sure what she is. ~Mari

Well folks, I guess the honeymoon and whatnot is over.
That Buff Roo - for the last couple of weeks - has gone back to his original coop in the evenings. You know, some say chickens and what not are stupid. Not me - if you take the time to observe them - you will at times - in my opinion - find yourself questioning their behaviour. At times it can indeed be a bit complicated. ~Mari
