One of our cookers has almost blew out the automatic air vent..this cooker was bought in the 1960s by DW mother, it has been a fantastic cookerfor almost 70 years. My question is has any one replaced one and the results you got. Or if a replacement is available. .

wally, If you haven't already, that Presto unit can be converted to a "jiggler", relieving you of watching the gauge. I did it to an old Presto we picked up at a garage sale. There's a kit available that replaces the vent with a stem and weight.

Sweetie has several Presto cookers. A couple as big as the All American 41qt pressure canners. They are all intact and with there appropriate accessories. However she only pressure cans with the AA canners. She does use the Presto with an flat lid for water bath depending on quantity and product being processed.
We have ordered parts for Presto products, they are available from several sources. The big thing seems knowing exactly what model you have. Model number also seems to determine whether you have a product capable of pressure canning or meal cooking only near as I can tell.
I have run across several Presto products at the thrift stores with bulged bottoms........
My 5 cents of knowledge and experience. Keep safe..
