I don't paint... If I can get out of it.... At least things like inside or outside of the house. Barn maybe, maybe not...
Also I am the worlds worst spray painter. You can look it up and there is a picture of me... I only paint farm implements and shop projects I've built..
In the last couple summers we have bought some partial gallons of implement enamel. Green, yellow, and red. I also got 2 banana box size boxes of spray cans at a garage sale of a body shop that quit business. All for $5... I have been able to use most of the spray cans. Some don't work, mostly it seems the nozzles plug. I have had marginal luck switching nozzles to get the can to work until empty. Sometime using a nozzle off a spray starch can, cooking baking spray can and even deodorant cans. Drips and runs are NOT an issue with the projects I do.
If anyone has tips, tricks, advise on how to make or keep spray paint cans working.....
PLEASE share that knowledge...

I've notice that I really need to shake spray paint up, and when I think I'm done, keep going for a couple minutes more. When you're done for the day/job, turn the can exactly upside down and spray into the air or towards paper, etc., until no paint comes out, to clean the neck and spray top. You avoid drips and runs by keeping the can moving while you're spraying, and paying attention to optimal distance from the target.
