Today Sweetie made a couple, 2 crust meat pies. One to go to the freezer for a quick meal as needed one day. One for dinner today. Also a big package of individual hand meat pies to the freezer.
These were all made with canned corn beef from the staples in the cold room. Kind of a way to do some rotation of stock, and test of how this would turn out in a tough day kind of situation.

My DH is from the Upper peninsula of Michigan. So pasties are a real hit here. They are a lot if work. So we make a big batch and freeze a bunch.
we use lamb as the meat.

Pasties are a big thing here in SW Wisconsin as well, due to the Cornish lead mining heritage. We make our own whole pies and order them when eating out as well.
