I need those of you who have knowledge about goats to look at their backsides. Best we can determine, they were never let out of the barn. The wether (far left without collar in the bottom left - wearing the orange collar in the far bottom pic) had to fight bucks for food. Do they look a little undernourished to you? I've been adding calf manna to their feed. 2 parts feed to 1 part manna and a sprinkle of minerals across the top. Does this sound right to you? Do they look a little undernourished. We got them Saturday and they are just now figuring out that they can eat grass!

I'm no expert, but I have had Nubians for several years so I'll throw in my 2 cents. If I say things you already know, I apologize. The boy in the orange column does look thin to me. His hip bones and back bone are more prominent that I would like. As they acclimate to outdoor life, I'm hoping they have had their CD&T shots to keep from getting a bad belly ache. Since goats tend to browse rather than graze, I'd also introduce some leaves for munching. A small handfull of BOSS might be a treat as well.
They have sweet faces, appear alert and curious and are just downright adorable. Do they have names?

He was named BBQ for obvious reasons. #sadface) Bo Peep - black nubian Beth - brown nubian Girls are registered. They all had their shots. What is BOSS? I bought goat treats, but I don't give them a ton. They are alert and very friendly. I posted more about them on my blog today.

Black Oil Sunflower Seed
You probably should have left Barnabus with his original name. We've had a bunch of "meal" oriented names over the years. Considering goat birth rate with twins and triplets, a good half will be boys. It's far more humane to eat a goat, wether or doe, than sell it for goodness only knows what fate. I won't bore you with the sad ends met by some of the goats we've sold. Suffice it to say, I'll only sell a goat now if WE deliver it to the processor and I don't breed more than necessary to fill our needs for milk.
FWIW, we got our first goat in early 1978 so we've kept them longer than some marriages last.

He has such a personality. They were triplets.

Such cute goats. Nubians have always been my favorite. Your one goat does look thin. Don't push too much grain. Go slow. Always all the browse they can eat & hay.slow with grain. Enjoy your new family

So cute! Goats are like potato chips .. you can't have only one!
Enjoy them! I wish I was your neighbor because I would spend all day next to the fence with those cuties!
