Today being Friday 13, we planned to stay home and get things done. I took garbage and recycle to the transfer station, did some things in the garage, and so on. Sweetie cooked and canned a double batch of Chow-Chow.
We both caught a small break in our jobs, made a pot of tea only to have Sweetie get a message a flock of chickens were available. Due to age, and predators we were down to 2 hens and Fog Horn the rooster...
So, everyone change clothes, and a flying trip on the far side of town in the rain for the last 11 chickens. Sweetie says they are "Isa Brown" breed. About a three quarter size bird, full size brown eggs, only good for soup when done laying. But they were cheap at $3.50 each.
Dark when we got home and turned them loose in the barn, but Fog Horn the rooster was already doing the "Hello Ladies" dance....
