Here it is, the first day of fall according to the calendar. I still have my hummingbird feeder up and still have visitors. Anybody else?
I plan to leave the feeder up until I don't see any birds for a week or so.

Yep, we sure do! I have a feeder here at the house and have seen some of those little darlings this AM. We have one Rose of Sharon that is still loaded with flowers and they are still frequenting that as well. It will be sad when the day comes that they are outta here and moving on to warmer parts... ~Mari

We still have visitors. As long as we have visitors, we will keep them full.

We don't put up feeders but have lots of flowers that they enjoy. Unfortunately, it's been so hot and dry here that the flowers are gone, so I haven't seen any hummers in weeks.

It is recommended that you remove all feeders by Sept 1st. As long as the feed is available, the birds will not migrate and will end up freezing to death. I wish I could tell you whos recommendation that ids but I'm sure you can google it. Wade

We don't have hummingbird feeders (or any bird feeders unless it's winter) due to bears. But the hummingbirds are still around here in northern Wisconsin, or at least they were as of a few days ago when one was flying around my husband's head...

I used to remove feeders on a specific date, say Labor Day, but I think it was the conservation dept. here in MO that recommended leaving them up until a week or so after the last sighting to help stragglers.
I love to watch the hummers feed on natural sources but I like flowers away from the house so I can see them from the windows. Most of our flowers are gone now anyway.

I didn't put up a hummer feeder, but had birds in various flowers all summer. There are still blooms on the Rose of Sharon, an anemone and so on, but the last hummer I saw here in upstate NY was just before my 9/12/19 birthday.

The last time I saw a hummingbird at a feeder was on Sept. 29th. On October 8th I heard one carrying on outside our bedroom window. How about ya'll? ~Mari

I did not put out feeders this year at all. Last year the wasps drove them off and the wasps were really bad this year. But I do have Touch-me-nots or Balsam Rose and they fed on them . They still blooming but I don’t think I have seen a hummingbird for a week.

I haven't seen a hummingbird in over a week even though the feeder is up and partially filled. We had a freeze yesterday morning (Oct. 12) that didn't affect that sugar water. I guess I'll bring the feeder in one day this week--at least before the next freeze is forecast.

I haven't seen a hummingbird since my last post. Considering the deck has a light coating of snow this morning, I'll take it as a good sign that they made it out. See you next year, hummingbirds!

In season we usually have a very few hummingbirds here. Little green florescent things that I have no idea what they are.
Like said we can't put out a feeder of any kind for them, any other bird, the grouse that come to the yard or anything else because of bears. Pretty much guaranteed not if, but when will you have a bear problem. Buggers.

East of the Mississippi in the states there's only one species of hummer, absent the very occasional one that flies the wrong way. Likely the same where you are.
