I bought some jeans for 25 cents. They had been hemmed up 4 inches! There's a white hemline left. I've read up on a few ideas, but I wonder what actually works. Not quitebell-bottoms, but close, so I don't want to cover with decorative embroidery. Too much. Your successful idea? Thanks!

How about some Ritt dye... dip the hem line in same color, or maybe the whole pair. It may make for a neat look, a little lighter at the bottoms of those bell bottoms! Yay for bell bottoms...they were the bomb

That may indicate more wear... do you have a pair you are discarding and could cut a strip from? Would not really need to be the same color, black, white or blue or ? Sew the strip wider than the white which will give strength.

Is the lighter area small enough to color with a blue Sharpie?

I was thinking marker or dye. The jeans are in very good condition, don't seem worn. They are very dark blue. There's just that narrow white line that used to be the fold, and is now 4" up.
