The net is fine, but sometimes I like a book as a reference. There is a set of books written by Nick Engler, The Workshop Companion. The books cover a lot of the basic principles and techniques of woodworking with power tools. Originally published in the 90's, most of the information is still applicable. And best of all, the used hardcovers are inexpensive. For instance: That's a representative picture and is not the one for sale...Always read the description. This book in fine condition (which is darn close to new) is $3.54 with free shipping at Abe Books. You can find it other places for similar prices. Not the best woodworking series, but still a very good value.
