I have a 7 inch Dewalt I bought and used last year. It has been in the tool box since then. This morning I got out to cut a board and when the blade touches the board it stops and will not cut. Is there a button somewhere on the saw that causes this? The blade was on when I bought it new so I do not think it loose , anyway it cut all the lumber with no hesitation after I bought it, so why not now?

Is there some kind of safety switch that requires you to hold it a certain way?

If there is feather, I must have turned it off or something or would it be on. There is such a thing as saw stop but I really do think for this small saw. 😏 the board is not my finger!
