It looks like southeastern Wisconsin is getting a 6 to 8 inch snowfall between last night and today. Meanwhile in the frozen snowy northwoods (hah!), we're seeing a few lake effect flurries. We did get 2 inches of snow over the weekend, so we now have 3 or 4 inches of snow on the ground. Snowmobile trails in my town will open at noon today - very late for that, since in an ideal world (for sledders) trails would open in early to mid December. It won't take much to reduce the trails to ice and snirt with the lack of snow we've had.
So, more drought than blizzard continues to hold true for us. I just hope we don't end up paying for the lack of snow this spring with another one of our disgusting late-April blizzards...

Here in our neck of the woods (about 40 miles north of Milwaukee) we're getting snow. The SE portion of Wisconsin is expecting up to 10", but we will end up with 5 or 6". We have pretty consistently had snow on the ground so I'm hopeful that we're in good shape come spring. Overall the weathermen say we're behind in snowfall this year by nearly a foot. But since this is Wisconsin anything can happen weather-wise.
With 2-foot drifts near the barn and house, I'm grateful for the snowblower on the tractor.

We got a lot of rain yesterday, close to 4", but it's sunny and warm (in the 50s) today. Oddly, today we're under a flash flood watch. Yesterday we weren't. Go figure.

You folks in the east half of the country, be careful with all the snow you seem to be getting. Too warm here, just cloudy with a little rain. Warm this coming week and the getting colder.

In a repeat of my last post, once again southern Wisconsin was the winner in our state in terms how how much snow. Also once again, here in far northern Wisconsin - at my house, anyway - we got about an inch, inch and a half of snow. And it's been sunny most of the day today, in the low 30's and some of the piddly amount we received is melting already.
The "drought" continues for us...

We had snow overnight-probably 4-5 inches, now a light rain/slush mix. More snow again this evening and tomorrow.

We got 2-3" of snow on Wednesday that melted off for the most part by Thursday evening. Yesterday we got around 1.5" of rain and the yard is so squishy.
DH brought home 200# of feed Friday and had to use the tractor to haul it out there due to soft ground. Who knew a tractor bucket would come in so handy?
It's been hanging right around or just above freezing during the day but a lot of wind. I know to some this doesn't constitute "winter" but it's plenty for me.

They just changed our forecast, now it’s called a nor’easter here...that word scares me! Not good here with all the water surrounding us. Now they’re calling for 12” to 15”... but by Thursday it’s supposed to be in the 40’s.
Not looking forward to waking up to it tomorrow morning. But as long as I wake up, alls good🙌

I would like to draw everyone's attention to the OP. This is the sort of thing your tax dollars are paying for.
I am 74 years old and this is the longest and the worst cold spell of my life. This is the sorriest global warming I have ever heard of.

Here in the PNW, up until this past week we have had a very unusually warm and dry winter. The mountains of the cascades did receive some good snow fall. Much of December and January saw temperatures in the upper 40’s to nearly 60. Until this recent series of storms, this location was at about ten percent of normal for snowfall. To me the “Man Upstairs “ has control of our weather. Has there not been changes in weather patterns from the beginning of time. In the late 40’s, mid 50’s, and numerous other times we have had much cold and more snow. Guess maybe in the past eighty years, I have learned to take what we get.

They are calling for an additional 6-9 inches starting Monday afternoon...

I'm on the other side of the mountains from farmerjack, and until last week, we hadn't seen so much as a flake of snow all winter. Warmer than normal, pretty wet, and we had one heck of a windstorm in January, but no snow. 😪 That all changed Thursday and Friday when we got dumped on with roughly 15" of snow. I did my snow happy dance 🤸♀️☃️❄💃, enjoyed it with a cup of cocoa, and am now watching it melt away like it had never been. 😭
