We had a few of these here and there last year in the veg garden. This year - it's trying to take over. In fact, it entirely engulfed the corn. I imagine it's something common but I can't ID it. A little help?

That stuff is out at the farm where WeGrowGarlic is. It was only around the horse manure pile and I ended up with it here. Don't think that I've ever allowed it to produce seeds but there must be some left in the soil where the manure was tilled in. So far, just the one bed that has them.

Honestly, this thing grows overnight. I weed for a couple hours and the next morning, it's everywhere. I'm going to hvae to think hard about what to do when we winterize the garden this Fall. Last year, it was nowhere, this year it's everywhere. Something changed and it's rampant.

Take it to the county extension and ask for solutions to keep it from spreading..

I have something like that here. I thought it was nightshade. To be more precise, Eastern Black Nightshade. It seems that some bugs that like other nightshades(tomato, potato, pepper) prefer the wild nightshade. For some reason, they seem to like eggplant leaves more than any other cultivated nightshades.
