What do you do when it snows approximately a foot and you drive a rear wheel drive car? You load up a hook and needles because just one project isn't enough.

This is why I love blizzards, all the knitting fun.

I've been sewing, sewing, sewing. Finished a pile of UFO's already and organized fabrics to start new projects. With almost 2 feet of snow, I can't do much else except clean house. . .yeah, I'm going to keep sewing!

Oh yeah, I should be cleaning the house too. But since my husband is on a business trip in sunny Las Vegas I figured I will take a vacation too.

Heheheheeee....I waited all summer and fall...through all that garden and hay hauling and brush clearing, promising myself that I would knit and spin all winter. And that's exactly what I am doing. The good ladies at my church are starting a knitting/crocheting group that will meet on Mondays. I generally don't attend since I'm a pooh....but I think I will this time. I can't say that I feel any guilt at all. Well, maybe a bit for my messes that are here and there...not only a little bit.

That's a scarf on the needles. I wanted something to match my coat and loved the colors of the yarn. Unfortunately I can't crochet with Lion Brand's Homespun so I put my basic knitting skills to work and did a sideways garter stitch. My CO was too tight so it curves in, but I'm just gonna pretend that I did that on purpose. lol I've got plenty of yarn leftover so I might try a little harder pattern and see what happens. The crochet is a wrap for me to use in the evenings when I always get a little chill. I hate having to use a throw because of the bulk and hope the wrap will warm me enough without me having to drag a blanket around the house with me. The scarf hangs better on me than the hanger, but I hate selfie pics.

KyMama, I think its great and looks like it was suppose to curve in Hope your wrap works and keeps you comfy without the bulk of a blanket

And since I've decided to do nothing while my husband is gone I made a grocery bag dispenser. I guess that's what you call it. I had this horrible Red Heart yarn so I decided to use some of it up. I don't know why this skein is so bad, but it's stiff and itchy so I couldn't make anything wearable out of it. It's hanging with a command hook in a standalone cabinet that I use for my cleaning supplies. It's not much to look at but I love quick and useful projects like this.

KyMama I'm a little late to the conversation, but I'm so glad to read that someone else can't crochet with Lion Brand's Homespun. I'm crocheting an afghan with it and dislike working with it so much I have a hard time picking it up to work on. Love the colors and it's oh so soft, but working with it? Not so much.

KyMama, I like the bag holder - that looks like a good project for someone like me who is a beginner at crocheting and knitting.

I hate Homespun, but I know many ladies love it. As to your too tight cast on, there are no mistakes, only pattern choices. I’m almost done with my first lace curtain.

I hate homespun too.
Maura, would love to see the curtains when they are done.
