What spoiled chickens Mari-in-IN! Mine are SOOO jealous, and they truly do wish they could catch a bus and go live with you in IN:-) But though they all pitched in, they weren't able to cover the bus fare:-) Guess they will have to stay here and hang out in the coop all day!

Man alive the last couple of days have been beyond miserable!! Have had all 4 fans on during the day... 2 outside-2 in the coops... The heat index hit 109 degrees  this afternoon! Snapped a pic of Mr. Rooster a little while ago... Well at least this one is appropriate to share - He did have his back to the fan and camera.   According to the forecast this may be the last hot day for awhile-hopefully the last of this year - I hope! Not sure what's going on in the rest of the country - Hope everyone is doing well and staying cool! ~Mari |

Mine are so really jealous of yours. So far, I haven't really done anything much for them this summer but provide cool water and good feed! They are doing ok...

Well, here we go again!
My chicksters haven't needed their fans until Wednesday last. Since then-each day has become more unbearable as far as heat/humidity. During the day I'm running one out at their pen-and yeah, they still have the option of exiting their pen and going into the yard/woods but for some reason they like to hang out in front of the coop under this particular shelter together... And I'm also running one in the big coop for the girls that go into lay. It was SO cute - yesterday morning when I was placing the fan inside the coop - 2 Australorp hens came over and stood in front of it! I didn't even have it on yet! Boy that made me laugh...
Took a quick video of the group outside today... They just never cease to amuse me...
I know a lot of us are experiencing just awful heat and humidity. Do hope you and yours and whatever livestock you may have are doing ok!

ETA - I was glad to reread through this thread-it reminded me that I must make some frozen treats for these guys!!

We have a small fan going inside their little house and hubby gives ice water in the afternoon and they love it!
