Censorship has consequences for everyone. If we're not free to discuss ALL subjects calmly and rationally, then we aren't truly free. It was fun while it lasted....

Looks like he has his winter coat on great picture! He's a she! All workers are females. Could have taken bee pictures today. Not another flower anywhere except 6 huge broccoli that we left just for the bees. Must have been 50 bees working the blossoms when we topped at 65º. This was their final foray of the year as high tomorrow expected to be only 32º. The beekeeper was already feeding so the broccoli was a bonus. Martin

The "B" photos you've been posting are simply stunning, CK3 - thanks for sharing them with us. Absolutely love them. Bees are such amazing creatures and it both saddens and worries me that their numbers appear to be diminishing. With all the chemicals, varroa mite and alleged radio transmissions affecting them these days, it's a hard road for the wee things, but they're so important to our survival, IMHO. Over here, our wild bees have died out and keeping bees is becoming increasingly difficult. I've noticed a bit upsurge in Bumble Bees the last couple of years though - understand they're not as susceptible to some of the issues that affect bees.

Not suitable for this group ~ politics not allowed or the promoting of political ideals by posting pics of socialist insects! Alas! they've sold out....and no small wonder, as there were only 1500 minted. Whatever were they thinking?!!!! There's a LOT more beekeepers in the world than that. 1 oz of .999 silver for a Cost: $149.00NZ What I wouldn't give for one of these special edition coins put out by the Reserve Bank of New Zealand.... (~~~ and yes, I know, there is ONE listed right this moment on eBay for $349.95 U.S. + $6.80 shipping. Ouch~!!! A bit too steep for my liking. While I like it a lot......not nearly that well to spend those kind of bucks. news.coinupdate.com/new-zealand-features-honey-bee-on-worlds-first-silver-hexagonal-coin-with-resin-inclusion/

copperkid3, I tried looking on our equivalent of eBay, but no luck. I'll keep an eye open though if you'd like me to, in case I see any come up for sale here. It certainly looks a beautiful coin. I guess with such a limited number minted, the price is unlikely to come down so if you really want it, I say bite the bullet and go for it. Well, that's what I say when I see a piece of quilting fabric I love. The fabric runs are so short and if you snooze, you lose.

I really like the hummingbird bees photo! Are your pictures the originals or have they been cropped and reduced? I'm asking because I usually crop and reduce my pixel x pixel size from my originals.

It's one of my favorites as well. None of these are "mine"; as in, I did not take them personally....but I did "appropriate" them from the web from other sites. The best that I can seem to do, is to copy and paste and hope for the best that they get to come out on the other side. LOL....
