This post is meant to be a motivator for all of us to have a clean, calm, organized home. Let us know what you are getting done so we can cheer you on!
I'll start: I sent a box to Goodwill yesterday and tossed a bag in the garbage. In cleaning the bathroom, I see I have lots of lotions to use up! We will be eating from the pantry and freezer more in an effort to not waste food that was bought on sale. Having more room to put things away will make it easier to clean the kitchen.
Today, I'm cleaning under the sink and see why I can never find cleaning rags! I'm putting plastic kitchen sink tubs under there to organize things.

Today I'm renting a carpet cleaner and shampooing them myself. The last 2 times I paid to have it done, the carpets looked streaky, cleaner where they'd overlapped. So I did it myself last time and was able to go over the whole area twice for less than 1/3 the price and the carpet looked great. I sure wish hubby would go for wood floors, they're so much cleaner! After carpet cleaning there's dusting, sweeping down cobwebs, cleaning windows, then DECORATING!!!!

Win: I got two boxes of books/games/electronic stuff sent to the resale bookseller. In doing that, see that there are a lot of things that need to be thrown out in the basement. Working on our clothes closet so we have more room to put things away.
I am declaring 2017 the year of getting rid of stuff that will never get used!!

FlyLady’s Detailed Cleaning List – Zone 4: The Master Bedroom This is my detailed cleaning list for Zone 4. Ensure you adapt it to fit your home and family. If you are still decluttering, you are not ready for this whole list, concentrate on decluttering only! Baby steps! – FlyLady
This is FlyLady’s Detailed Cleaning List for Zone 4. If your home is still cluttered, you are not supposed to do detailed cleaning yet; just declutter for 15 minutes a day in this area. Do not get blown away by how big this detailed cleaning list is LOL! We do not do all of it in one week. Each month we focus on a different room, and only do just a little in the other rooms. After a few months it will be very easy! BabySteps! It did not get dirty overnight and it is not going to get clean in a day! Print each room on a separate sheet of paper. Copy and paste into a word processing document. You may need to add a few of your own details that apply to your home.
Start at the ceiling and work your way down to the floor.

My house looks reasonable so I spent several hours in the basement. --Two large Boxes for donation --Four boxes for a Friend's daughter --a carload to the dump --Four boxes of books and games to sell --Tons of paper/boxes to recycle in the garden by suppressing weeds and holding in moisture (BTW: I put six boxes of paper in the garden to get wet. Then, when I plant my seedlings in the spring they will stay put!! --Found sewing notions, thread, parts to my vacuum cleaner. Now have four rubbermaid boxes to use in organizing the rest of stuff to keep.
All in all a very productive day. It was hard to stop, but all the dust was getting to me!
