Stealing this from another forum I am a part of. What did you learn today?
Today I Learned (TIL) that the way I have my pantry set up, I only have enough containers to store 35lbs of white flour. Of course, I discovered this after buying 40lbs!
Today I ALSO Learned that I am terrible at mixing banana bread batter by hand. My mixing bowl attachments were in the dishwasher and I got impatient. The loaf looks horrible in the oven.

I learned today that lots of things do not store well. With the help of our kids we cleaned out a big barn that we have used for storage for almost forty years. We wish we had not stored items and then forgot about them.

Hey, fordy, crack the eggs into a ziplock bag and float the bag in the hot water until the eggs are hard cooked. This won't work for deviled eggs, but it works great for egg salad! In fact, now I'm gonna go make some. Thanks!

TIL that when a squirrel gets across the switch on top of a power company transformer there is a big BOOM and the lights go out.
The fully cooked squirrel is still out there under the pole. It wasn't a CRACK like a rifle or a BOOM like a shotgun. It really did sound more like a black powder cannon.

TIL that when out doing chores and a storm is coming in, that saying, "wait, wait, wait...just another minute", hurrying through the chores chanting that and, "no, no, no," doesn't work. When it is ready to rain, you are going to get soaked!

Banana Bread Recipe Fannie FarmerI will give it a try. I think my issue was that my bananas weren't quite soft enough, so didn't get mixed in very well. It is still very good though. Today I Learned that if you remember to put all of your customer's purchases on the invoice, they'll hand you more money! (Doh!)

When it is ready to rain, you are going to get soaked! Back in the mid 80s I helped a dear older couple move from here in Michigan down just North of San Antonio, TX. She stayed up here while he and I hauled their stuff down there. Driving down there we took turns and he did half of the driving. We did the 1500 miles in 30 hours with the largest truck he could rent.
The day we were to head back we spent the whole morning finishing the skirting on their trailer in the heat then headed North at Noon. He drove about an hour and wanted me to take it so he could take a nap. Five hours later I was getting tired so I woke him up as I was pulling into a very full rest stop. I woke up a half hour later and we were parked off the freeway. He was asleep behind the wheel. I got him to move over and drove another 24 hours steady to get home. I was about 29 and he was 68 or 69. Most of the way home I was looking at a thunderstorm off to the West that tracked us North up to mid Michigan. I was praying for the Lord to keep my eyes open and keep that storm away from us. One time only we had about a dozen drops of rain on the windshield. I sure slept good that next night at home in our own bed.
