TIL that friends from the city are very nervous when they see any kind of movement outside in the yard. "I just saw a bushy tail. I think it's a fox!" Umm...no, it's a squirrel. "I was going to pick up some pine cones tomorrow, but now I'm kind of afraid to." Let me repeat: It was a squirrel. OMGoodness, susannah, you made me laugh with that one! Thanks for the funny.

Today I learned...don't be too lazy to change the size of the sewing machine needle when changing to a different projects with much lighter fabric. A too large/heavy duty needle creates the perfect perforation line for the fabric to rip at first chance.

That's so funny! Nothing like squirrel to scare the heck out of a person We had some friends visiting one time. In the evening we heard a coyote howl off on the hill. He went around the house checking all the doors and windows and then jammed a chair under the door knobs, just in case the coyote had a key! lol.

This was one of my finer moments. Ya know the lids on the less expensive coolers are hollow? That's why the ice melts so quickly. So I had an idea.
TIL that if one decides to drill a hole and fill said lid with Great Foam, they should also drill a VENT hole!
I can only describe what happened when I pulled the nozzle/tube from the hole as a volcano-like eruption, crossed with the sparks coming out of the back end of a bottle rocket. Thankfully my cat-like reflexes, thought long lost, allowed me to shut my eyes in time. By the time it was done doing its thing I was covered with the stuff, as was the chair, the cooler, and some shot onto the siding on the house. DW will be thrilled that I was at least smart enough to do this outside.
Disclaimer- I call all expanding foams Great Stuff, this was actually one of the water based ones that comes off your skin. Learned that one in one of my earlier "finest moments".

Rustaholic, Congratulations on your daughters' wedding. Try to relax and enjoy the day. I remember both our daughters wedding days were simply beautiful and their Daddy did great. He was nervous, but he was fine. Remember to see the humor of things and take lots of pictures.

TIL that I can change the float in the commode by myself. I had done this before under my late SO's supervision, but it was so long ago that I had forgotten. I talked and muttered to myself during the process but got it done.

TIL that Old McDonald has:
- A bear - A motorcycle - A dinosaur (probably a Velociraptor) - A fish - A dog - A duck - A zombie - A monster
If my son is telling a true tale, then I don't want to go to Old McDonald's farm!

They are so right for each other and will do great together. We will be here to encourage if it is needed. I just want to play with Grand Babies.

TIL I no longer can burn the candle at both ends very long. The last three days doing the wedding prep and then cleaning up I had three short nights of sleep in a row and I am one whipped puppy right now. That means it takes a lot more time to write a post because of all the typos to be fixed.

TIL that I cracked the top 30,000 ranked authors on all of Kindle. This may not seem like a big accomplishment, but there are well over a million authors over there. ... sorry for the shameless self promotion. My husband is sick of hearing about it and I've got to share it with somebody!

TIL that I'm pretty sure I know how Charlotte feels (on "Alaska The Last Frontier") when Otto does something that could really be dangerous. Oh, never mind. I actually learn that just about every time we're working outside. It's just that my husband's creative attempts for moving a big old fiberglass fishing boat drove it the thought home once again today.

I hit that bugger hard!!! Teeth hurt, nose was bleeding was a stuck pig, new knot on my forehead......
The good news is that I think that my nose was straightened out!!!
Still hard to tell with all of the swelling and blood...

Yes but those stickers meant to remind the kids are usually placed about thigh height for me. I guess I need to put some up at the six foot level.
But I do not think that they make the stickers that will stay put on the screen door portion of the slider. It is not like I have never walked into that one at night while trying to go outside thinking that the door is open when in fact it is not.
Maybe I just need to be more careful and not so much in a hurry.
