Thanks for sharing mzgarden! They are just so flipping cute!! I just adore goats - it's always a very rare treat when I'm able to be in the company of goats... I especially like the first pic of your oh so precious wether chillin' with your chickens...

I uploaded them to my Facebook album. Then I went to the picture, double clicked it to open it and then did a right click and copied the picture location and came back here, clicked on the picture icon and pasted the url.

I had my female LGD, Anatolian Shepard bred oh about 53 days ago, expecting pups in about 10 days, she was bred to a Kangal LGD who belongs to a friend of mine......she is getting big, I purchased a 8 X 10 shed kit (wont ever do that again) the ones you build yourself, came in about a skillion pieces (no spelling mistake) skillions of pieces, but we got it together and this is her dog house now to have pups in, No floor in shed as dogs like the cool dirt in summer months, I did purchase thick black mats for ground so pups don't get chilled this time of year, I will use a blanket on mats for a few days and then replace with straw under pups after they are better at being mobile as I don't want pups getting lost under straw, also have lined the inside of shed with intacted straw bales to help keep heat in and chill out of shed, I have placed stick up lights inside shed also.... Took about 14 months of age to get this dog to not chase livestock, it was all I could do to not rid of her, I have many of the Great Pyr and they have never been this much trouble to raise and train to livestock, I was wanting a shorter haired breed as the GP's take so much work with their hair coats, forever grooming for knots and burrs, anyhow I went with the Anatolian because of ability to guard and hair coat.

Thanks everyone, I wish I could stay home and dive in that pile of pups and smell that sweet puppy breath and stay there, sadly they are going to require a bunch of financial cost and I have to be at work, Mom and 11 pups where all doing well this am, our night temps aren't the best and it worries me some, but they where all nice and toasty this am.... I gave momma a Oxy shot this am, for milk let down purposes, I will be picking up many cans of Jack Mackerel for momma dog to mix in with her puppy kibble she is being fed, Mackerel is high in Omega 3, protein, easy digestible, and helps in milk production, Also will stop at vets and pick up cans of puppy milk to have on hand incase I need to supplement some, 11 pups is going to require TONS of milk.....

All the oaks and Maples, poplars ect trees have all lost their leaves, but the Bradford pears (no fruit) are the last to lose theirs and I just love the late fall colors.... This up coming story is sooooooooooooooooooo funny, this is how Katahdins act, So DH will be working out of town next week, he will be home late but won't have anytime to do much other then eat supper and sleep, so we loaded extra feeders with hay today and topped them all off so I don't have to worry about hay next week as it is all done and plenty set out....So DH drives tractor out in one of the back pastures to go fetch more hay feeders and bring up to pastures sheep are in, I always bring treats like crackers or something for the dogs....so I am standing there waiting for DH to come back and opening crackers for dogs, the SHEEP hear the cracker package opening and they all where looking at me giving dogs treats, so they look like this FIRST................... AND THEN THIS STARTS HAPPENING.......................................................... AND THEN THIS............................................................................ AND BEFORE YOU KNOW IT I AM BEING MAULED BY SHEEP WHO WANT THE CRACKERS, THEY ARE SURROUNDING MY FEET AS I AM DROPPING CRACKERS EVERYWHERE ............................ OKAY, DH IS BACK AND STARTS LOADING HAY INTO FEEDERS, I ONLY HAD ONE PACKAGE OF CRACKERS (FOR DOGS WHO DIDN'T GET MUCH) SO SHEEP LEAVE ME AND RUN OVER TO GOB PUTTING OUT HAY..... THEN DH GOES TO LOAD BALES IN ANOTHER PASTURE THAT THESE SAME EWES HAVE ACCESS TO, SO THEN IT LOOKED LIKE THIS, WHERE DID EVERYONE GO? . LOL...... WHEN THEY REALIZED THAT DH WAS LOADING THE SAME HAY IN THE OTHER PASTURES THEY STARTED TRICKLING BACK.....LOL IT IS ALL ABOUT THE FOOD WITH SHEEP, OUR SHEEP WOULD DO ANYTHING FOR TREATS AND FOOD.............. THIS IS THE END OF PICTURE STORY, SILLY SHEEP !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

shellymay, that was so humerous...great pics too. I learn something new everyday. I had no idea sheep would actually even realize, from such a distance that you had crackers😄 And like treats. Too funny and you sure have a lot of work to do everyday with all of your animals.

shellymay, They are beautiful pups...so big for 6 weeks, wow! How many are you keeping? Love seeing them getting used to the chickens already. Geez, I can't even imagine how much work your place takes to run smoothly! Great pics, thanks for sharing. Now those will be good "watch dogs" and "work dogs" that's for sure! I want to cuddle one of those guys

Update on puppies, they are not so little anymore......Puppies went up for sale at 12 weeks of age, most are going to homes with folks who have livestock, a few homes I would like to talk about, two of the females that are fawn with black masks went to their new home together as a pair all the way to Maine, customer drove 18 hrs one way and stayed in a motel near me, at 3:00 this past Saturday he picked them up and drove back to Maine, we are in contact and they all made it back safely, these pups will protect goats in their future.
One pup went to a good home and they have other dogs that pup will grow up with, also a goat farm.... one pup went to guard sheep and this owner has purchased sheep from us for several years straight. One pup went as a pet or farm dog to owner of 80 acres but no livestock, he will just be a buddy and go everywhere with owner all over the acreage, another pup went as a chicken/duck guard dog and those folks also have two other dogs..
Pup number 7 left yesterday to a guy who works for BIG & RICH the country singers, maybe someday he will be famous? I did get a couple of CD's from him and oh my let me tell you that pup is going to be spoiled rotten, he will have a job guarding chickens and the family, this buyer fell in love with the pup in the first 30 seconds of seeing him....
I have turned a few folks down for pups as they were not good fits for the potential buyers.....

207 lambs on the ground now, nothing but rain here and what a muddy mess, central ky has had so much rain over the last month I could just puke
More news, we are going to move, we current have 3 properties for a total of 114 acres, we went to a 94 acre with a tiny house and nice barns/buildings auction on the 24th, we where highest bidders, Yippy.... we will now sell all three other properties and move onto ONE piece and have everything in ONE place, I am so excited. We have been looking for about 2 yrs for a place big enough to consolidate everything into one, it was a cattle farm and only had one strand of barbed wire around it, all open pasture except for about 6 acres, has 4 nice ponds....but we will have to bulldoze the fence row out and have woven wire put up as sheep won't stay in one strand of barbed wire, will be expensive but worth it in the end. House we live in now is 3000 sq feet and it is only hubby and I, new house on property is an old farm house which was all gutted and new wiring and all new plumbing in, it is 4 bedroom 1 1/2 baths but the rooms are really small, I believe it is only 1300 ish sq feet home, we will have some adjusting to do and downsizing on material items but again well worth it to not have to travel every day to three properties......
Here is link below....click on red tab, then scroll down and more red tabs show different areas of new property..... double click on each red tab!
