Yes! Cousin had a couple of horses and a pony in 20 acres of creek bottom. There was a little spring and the pony loved to lay in it in warm weather. Some do-gooder drove by and decided that the pony was "stuck in a swamp" and called the sheriff. Sheriff came and they started walking to the pony. He got up and started walking toward them. So much for the stuck pony!

LOL! TOO FUNNY!!
Down here, there are lots of ponds. In the hot summer months the horses like to lay in the water to cool off. My daughter snapped a pic of a sign posted on a fence that said "HORSE IS NOT DROWNING. PLAYING IN THE WATER, BLOWIN BUBBLES, PASSING TIME AWAY" Apparently lots of people thought that "poor" horse was out there drowning, when he was actually just loving life and having fun:-)

A lady driving by stopped me once when I was with my horse at a boarding stable to tell me that "one of my horses" was caught in a fence. I was pretty sure that, beside it not being my horse, no horse was caught as I could see the group in the distance dozing quietly. But since you never can be sure, I hiked down to find that it was a horse rolling in the dirt near a fence.
I make fun of the ignorance of non horse people compelled to report on horses in danger but I owned one gelding who took the longest siestas flat out in his side. Many a time I stood watching him until he ripped off one of his equally infamous snores just to make sure he wasn't really dead this time.

here to stay, I just figured out why I've been seeing blank posts from you lately. You are linking to stuff from oddstuffmagazine, which is blocked here at work, LOL!

It's a time waster but is there something about the site that is dangerous? The written things (not memes) are so peculiarly worded, I figured the site was owned by a non English speaker.

It is not always wrong. We got a call many years ago saying one of our horses was down and rolling and had been for some time. Went down to check on her, colic, in the end it was found she had swallowed a golfball and it had gotten stuck in the small intestines.
I was once out walking in Scotland by the sea when we walked past a gate to a sheep field, it was full of ewes and lambs, there was one ewe on her side panting right by the gate, she didn't get up and run as we approached and her two lambs had that wrinkled look as if their skin were a couple of sizes too big, and were not bounding all over her as the other lambs in that field were. it took a while but we eventually found the farmhouse and off he went on his quad bike to check. I don't know if we were correct but I'm pretty sure all was not well in that corner.
