And one of these days I will pay for my trust in her, but how many horses can you give a shot while they are standing loose at the hay trough and they do no more than lift their head before returning to eating.
I've been giving allergy shots and occasionally forget to do it before feeding. Since I don't like pulling a horse away from their meal, I just did it while she stood there. I will try not to push it as I don't want her to develop a bad attitude but I've done it twice now. How lucky can a horse owner be...

I love really mild tempered horses! I have a gelding that my farrier trimmed, and afterwards we realized he wasn’t haltered or tied! Farrier is a force of nature, fast as can be, very efficient. My horses seldom have to be held when he does feet, but to have one just stand there without anything on him, that was hilarious:-)

My farrier used to take his trimming tools into the pasture to trim one retired gelding of mine. That horse just stood there too. But then having the farrier call broke up his endless lazy days and he probably enjoyed the change. He was that sort of personality.
But, pardon my pride in Tess, giving a shot is a whole 'nother level of trusting calm.
