They are absolutely precious! Thanks so much for sharing pics... I've only been in the company of goats just a handful of times and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it!

While not a goat, thing 5 was born this weekend. A heifer (yay) so we get to keep her, although that means the search for future freezer fodder is on. How absolutely beautiful. What a poppet. Thanks for letting us meet her.

@redfish , since she's a keeper, how about Fortuna (Latin) or Tyche (Greek- pronounced ti-kie like Psyche)

Well since she was born in April that would be a okay name "April"
but what I really like is, does she look just like momma cow? If so what about reflection? a reflection of her mom? OR Dad I guess.

Cute calf. Who needs TV with all these babies to watch! Enjoy!
As far as names go, don't ask anyone over here. We ended up with a rooster named Blackie (a stray), one named Blackie and Whitey (Barred Rock) and one named Sparrow (Ameracauna) that looked like a sparrow as a chick. And then we have Stupid chicken because she'll just stand there and let you pick her up, an Super chicken because she can actually climb fences instead of flying to the top and jumping down.
We are not real original around here!

Sounds like here, we had blackey, and whitey (no prizes for guessing why) Peeper (arucana who just peeped all the time even as an adult) Landehøns (she is a landehøns) and Ducky. (a duck funnily enough) Cats were Lurky (because he lurked) Khaos and Mischief only Mischief is left and she lives up to the name. If that calf were mine it would be blacky or coal or possible stew!

Very nice looking heifer. In years past depending where we bought our calves, or were born on the places we chose a name to match. Calves from one dairy were named after planets, another dairies calves were cereals. A home cow was named Penny so her calves were named after currency.

She’s so darn cute...I say “Betsy” I’ve only had one cow in my lifetime. She was so gentle, Betsy.

Well, it's taken the kids forever, but they like Tyche for the calf but they're stealing April for one of the goat kids. Their reasoning was April is a cute name and the calf won't be cute when she grows up. I love my goats but I'm not sure I'd classify full grown goats as cute either. I'm shocked. I find my girls totally cute most of the time.

Ah well, I'm too late. My entry was going to be Diana Diana (Roman) - Goddess of the hunt and wild animals. She later took over from Luna as the Roman Goddess of the moon, responsible for fertility and childbirth. The name Diana means "heavenly divine," reflecting her celestial role.

I am too late as well, but love the name Poppet for the heifer. Ziggie and Jewel for the kids.
