We finally have some good weather AND I used the last of my carryover days from 2017. I started going through the hives I here at the house and am very pleased with what I saw. All of the survivors had at least one frame of honey left from last year. Since the ones I lost starved I will chalk it up to natural selection and keep pulling splits out of my successful hives.
I reversed the boxes and expect to do my 1st round of split in 2 weeks. I time it with the apple blossoms now.
As much fun as it was to be in my bugs again, I felt good just being outside.
