I don't know about you, but I need this more than ever since we spend so much time outdoors at this time of year. You don't have to follow Flylady (whose tasks take you throughout your home in one year), just post what you want to do, how you do it and what you accomplished: Daily 10-15 min tasks
Mon:Scrub the countertops. Move small appliances and get under and behind them. Tues: Clean the inside and out of your trash container. Wed:Scrub kitchen faucets with a recycled clean toothbrush Thurs: Clean the outside of your appliances, including stovetop Fri:Sweep and mop your floor.
Kitchen: Detailed Cleaning List-- if you have time after the daily task.
Empty refg/clean thoroughly
Clean microwave inside and out
Clean stove/oven
Wash canister/knick-knacks
Straighten drawers/cupboards
Wipe fingerprints off walls
Wash inside windows
Clean fan/vent-a-hood filters and hood
Scrub down cabinet fronts (only a few at a time)
Clean light defusing bowls (glass globes over light bulbs)
Clean under sink/throw away old rags
Clean pet dishes

With the gorgeous May we had, we moved to outdoor projects and I've kind of let the indoor stuff slide. After excessive rainy days last summer, the outside projects were sorely neglected. Hmm...does working on organizing the yard and woods on the "neglected for 30+ years before we bought the place" property count?
But since we've actually had rain twice in the past week and might get a little more this week, we've picked up a bit with the great basement cleanup and organization of 2018. Almost all the old paint has been dried up (only 2 cans to go!), and I've used an extra dump ticket each week for the additional big bag of junk that has left the building. We built a second shed last month (outdoor project! But it does tie in with organizing). We moved the lawn tractor, lawn mower, snow thrower, tiller and a few other pieces of equipment from the old shed into the new shed, and moved many of dh's tools and things to the old shed. A little background:
Up until two years ago, our home had a concrete floored workshop on the first level, which we used as a workshop the first 5 years of owning the house, then turned it into a master suite. Which led to everything that was in the workshop being crammed into the garage and especially, the utility room in the basement. You not only couldn't find anything in the utility room (total lack of organization) but it was getting hard to move anything through. With our moving things to the old shed (which has electricity) dh once again has a workshop, and the utility room is no longer overflowing with assorted treasures, tools and...stuff.
I'm still not totally satisfied with how the utility room looks, so that may be my organization project for this week. Assuming I can make myself stay indoors, that is.

I ended up doing a major cleaning of my kitchen after I, for the second time in my life, dropped a glass jar with pickled herring and onions on my tiled kitchen floor. The glass and contents went from Here to over There, under the stove and fridge,up and down the lower cabinet doors and everywhere else. It's clear that I'm either not meant to consume pickled herring anymore, or the cleaning Gods are trying to tell me that it's time I really did a Spring Cleaning of my kitchen. It, the kitchen, usually looks pretty good as I make sure to keep on top of things, with inspiration from flylady, but now it looks slightly better, with a faint whiff of vinegar and fish. I actually do have to clean the overhead light shades in the kitchen this weekend, as the bulb has burned out after several years of use and since I'll be up there anyway....

I'm following this weeks flylady tasks closely, actually I focused on them last week too. I'm getting my wall to wall carpeting professionally steam cleaned this weekend and have to get as much off the floor as possible before Saturday. When I'm moving stuff I figure I might as well clean or toss as necessary. The strapping young men who will be pushing the cleaner around will move, then return, some of the furniture to its rightful spot, with the legs protected with plastic bags, but the more bits and pieces I do,the more time they can spend treating my carpeting. Did I mention that the carpet is a light white/grey. For some reason I thought that was a good idea when I was choosing carpeting. I have a feeling that getting the carpets steamed professionally is going to do good things for my allergies too. I'm hoping to replace the carpeting with hard wood next year, depends on the pocket book.
