What would we do with free bacon for life (or even a year)?
I can think of a few things!

If I won the bacon bicycle instead though that would be embarrassing.

If I won the bacon bicycle instead though that would be embarrassing. It would be embarrassing! It looks like a nice bike, but I think it would need to be painted.
Did you know you can buy postage paid postcards at the post office for about 38 cents. I still want the bacon.

The World Health Organization has classified bacon and other processed meats as Group I carcinogens. So, we will not be entering the contest. Our health is that important to us. Sorry to be a Debbie Downer.

People have eaten red meats from the beginning of time. Processing with chemicals is far more likely. But what the live red meat ate is more likely and that is chemicals. Chemicals on pastures , chemicals on grain raised, gmo hay and grain, overuse of vaccines ...more chemicals. Chemicals are the only changes and major in the last 50 Years. Raise your own meat on clean pastures.

Sorry to be a Debbie Downer. I don't think you are being a debbie downer. People are going to eat what they are going to eat. I know you and WIHH are purists for the Whole plant food diet, which is just great! It's good you take your health seriously.
One of the nice things about this contest is the winners of 'bacon', actually get 'coupons for $7.99' for smithfield products, one per week. That way you don't have bacon in the freezer taking up electricity. These would be good barter items for people that do eat meat or processed meat and for people that don't. The whole point of the contest is advertising/marketing, and I've learned that smithfield products include fresh meat as well.
One of my barter friends grows a huge garden and would love to have coupons for fresh meat or processed meat, while I could get away from having such a big garden if they would barter more vegetables with me. I have two meat eating people in the home and I'm not going to start WW3 over it, they have minds of their own.

I hear you Redfish. The human body and digestive system is amazing. What works for some people dosen;t necessary work for another. You would think that since we are all humans that "one size fits all." But, it doesn't. Genetics is also a big factor.

Haven't bought bacon for more than a year. Did make 1 small batch of 14 strips from my bear allocation this year. My only other bacon has been the rare Burgerville bacon burger. Think I had 2 this year. I do miss bacon a little. But like many other things we don't keep in the house any more, ice cream, candy bars, etc, I buy 1 at a time as the urge overtakes me these days. I used to think that the only thing left that we needed was food at our age, now it is just good food and a lot less of it. I still enjoy eating, small bite, sip of water, chew each bite 100 times, now days about 1/3 cup at a time takes nearly 1/2 hour, 5 times a day. Better than putting it in a blender, EH....James

It has a valuable lesson. I don't use or for that matter, trust Google. I don't trust your word on a matter, because you normally brush it off and say: "Google will answer your questions." Point/counter point proven. If I wanted someone's opinion, I'd ask for it. I asked for your citation and you told me to look it up myself.....typical. Oh and one more thing, I don't fantasize or base my life's decisions on what is or isn't presented in a movie. Lesson or not.....I've got higher priorities and greater values. Your mileage must differ.... If you'd care to give it another shot, I'm still open to listening, but I'll not do YOUR work for you when you were the one making the claim in the first place.
