mzgarden, your blocks have arrived. I need to have a lesson with your quilting teachers--I could use some pointers from them. Your blocks are more than "ok".

ok I am late getting my blocks done but will finish them up hopefully tomorrow though they are super simple this time, now that I have finished dealing with all the details of my mom's estate and her funeral, her passing was a blessing for her as she has been living with dementia for the last 2 years and unable to really communicate at all the last year it was nice to see her look at peace after she had slipped away she has not looked peaceful in a long time.

Krisinmi if you use the larger envelopes with clasps on them don't use the clasp leave it open under the flap and tape over it to keep it shut as the clasp sometimes get caught in the machines and rip the envelope and the next several behind it as they go shooting through

How is everyone coming on their blocks? Just a heads up that there's about a month left until they absolutely need to be mailed in order to get to me by the deadline on March 30th. If anyone is having troubles, I so understand that things come up. Send me a PM if you need to back out and just want to send the fabric back unfinished.

krisinmi, mine are not done. Fabric still in the envelope. Bill and I were gone for most of Feb. Home now but got sick on the trip and I am still struggling to get well. Will do my best to get one done even if it turns out to be nothing but a simple 9-patch.

Billie, sorry you've been sick. I also love 9 patches - so much creativity available in those squares.

I have decided on my patterns and expect to get my blocks made this week. It's 8 degrees outside but as far as I'm concerned, it's March and it's spring so it's time to do some spring time sewing!

Kris, I mailed my blocks this morning and the receipt said you would get them Friday. They're here, a day early! After all the delay in the fabric getting to you from Michigan, the return trip was only 2 days!! USPS, go figure Very nice job on your blocks. Your fabric choices are so different from one block to the other, but yet they both are lovely.

I've been hoping that too!
All my pieces are cut out and a quarter of my block is sewn. I plan to finish mine this weekend and mail it on Monday.

Rustaholic, typically pictures of all the blocks are posted after the winner receives them. That way the winner gets to be the first to see them, and gets to enjoy the element of surprise when they open their package of blocks. Sewing them all together into a quilt is up to the winner, and hopefully she will share pictures of the final product with us.

krisinmi, if it's not too late I'm going to get brave and ask you to go ahead and put me in the drawing for the blocks. I'd never made a quilt top before when I asked you to keep my name back, but because I wanted to be included in the seasonal homestead quilt block projects, I've made a few blocks. I've now found a great group of quilters to teach me and I've made a quilt top of my own and am on my way. I'm definitely no expert, but I'd like to give it a shot, if I were to win. Thanks to all of you for opening my eyes to the world of quilting.

Kris: Full disclosure. I finished my blocks but they are 1/4 inch short. Unfortunately, I did not have enough of the outer border fabric and will be able to get to a fabric store tomorrow. Should be done soon and I will warn you when they are mailed.

Glad you liked the blocks, Kris, and that they got there so promptly. I just got my internet back about an hour ago. My electricity went out Wednesday morning because of wind storm damage to the area and it took days and nights of working for Xcel to get it back on. I think there are still some houses going without. Now I feel worn out just from waiting! lol

farmchix, your block came today. I'm astounded at how well all the fabrics you used go with the forum fabric. It looks like it could have been a kit! You have an amazing eye.

Should be done soon and I will warn you when they are mailed. I've had that happen a time or two. It's so frustrating. Math with fractions has always been a challenge; just when I think I've got it my fabric calculation comes up short!

My block was mailed today and is supposed to arrive Saturday! I asked my husband to pick up a large envelope and he went a little overboard.
