Like this:
I used 16 oz black beans (these were canned a while ago, with salt)
1/2 cup cocoa 1/4 cup honey 1 t. baking powder 1/2 cup almond flour small handful of walnuts Put everything in the food processor except the walnuts, until smooth, then add the walnuts and pulse, but don't make them disintegrate. Bake at 350 deg F for 25 minutes. I used a silicon cup cake pan, no oil.
Served with a couple tablespoons of non-ice-cream on top. The brownies are very DARK chocolate flavor! Turn on the lights!
Don't ask me to follow the recipe exactly. I just can't do that.

Are you familiar or do you have the book Country Beans? I think you would like it. It has something like 400 recipes using beans. Your brownies reminded me of it. I had kinda forgotten about it but I think I'll peruse it tomorrow.

tenbusybees, looks very interesting. I love how they use the bean flours for so many things. I'm going to put it on my list of books I'd like to find at the second hand book store. I can see it is $5 used on amazon. Beans and bean flour makes a great thickener for sauces/gravies.

Made black bean brownies several times. Can hardly tell the difference between these and "unhealthy" brownies made with white flour, oil, and refined sugar.

All this time, with DH, I've been transparent as glass. This is an eat loaf not a meat loaf, it has no meat in it, no refined oil, no sugar, little salt. It's not going to taste like meat loaf. I'm trying to manage expectations so neither he nor I am disappointed and yet eat plant based. Over time, our taste buds have changed. With these brownies, he wasn't near the kitchen when I made them, and he never asked me what they were made from. But I think with his low expectations about beans, he wouldn't have enjoyed them as much if he knew they were made from beans. He just never asked. It was weird. I'm sure we'll talk about it, at some point.
EDIT: Come to think of it, he didn't ask what the no cream ice cream was made from either. It's base is garbanzo beans.
