Lol, somehow goats always have the last laugh on me. End of May, we needed to fix something in the buck pen. Buck got in with the girls for about an hour. No sign of heat, no flubbering, just happy grazing (I thought). They're seasonal breeders in the Fall, so not to worry, right?
We put him in with the girls end of July, hoping to kid before Feb (coldest month), they tested pregnant. Great, we're planning for end of Dec, early Jan. Laugh's on us -- Nov 2, go out to feed the two girls - one's missing? In the shed with her two babies, all nice and dry and adorable.

And Nubians?? My favorite, though the Alpine pair I had were so lively and pretty.

Use Less, yep Nubians. Although they have a reputation as Divas, this girl is easy to care for, easy to breed and obviously delivers her kids without help and is a very good Mom. She has her faults, but not a bad girl to have all in all.

Had a 3/4 LaMancha 1/4 Nubian to kid three time before she was two!!! Sneaky to say the least.

mzgarden, adorable! You don't perchance have any neighbors that would leave you two kids, kind of like too much zucchini?

Well, she definitely delivered before February! Perhaps May breeding works after all???
