Well, I'm down to just one treadle sewing machine, at one point there were five. However, I'm not quite sure how many sewing machines there are total. The one treadle, one in a cabinet, one to travel to quilting group, one as parts for the one to travel to quilting group, a not-in-a-cabinet vintage Bernina that I like because it threads itself, two antique hand crank ones in wooden cases. Ha! That's only seven. At least, I think there's only seven one might be hiding somewhere. I've given away a half dozen of them as well as four treadles so the herd is thinning. Only three spinning wheels. The Canadian Production Wheel is still technically under repair, but it spins beautifully even while injured. The pair of Ashfords are a pair just because one popped up at a yard sale at such a reasonable price that I couldn't leave it there. It will eventually go to a new home somewhere. The one in front is my first spinning wheel. It's got the lace flyer, regular flyer, jumbo flyer & Woolee Winder as well as a slew of bobbins. That makes everything but the fine stuff, the CPW is for making loads and loads of thin yarn fast. Which it does! Prior to getting the CPW, I hardly ever made thin yarn since it took so much time and treadling. Now, it's a scramble to keep enough fiber going into the orifice even when making fine yarns. Beautiful Wheels Hotzcatz!

bergere, you could always let 'them' know you're stepping down as sheep mod, then post in the sheep forum where the active members can find you. That is what I did in the soap & the fiber forum

Okay Mearwynna, beautiful wheels and spindle but I have 2 very important questions:
1. Is that a CONSOLE piano? On a TILE floor? and
2. Have you experienced and 'cracks' in the tile?
Sorry couldn't resist! LOL

um. I 'shamed to admit I haven't the slightest idea what kinda piano that is. All I know is that it plays fairly well, my kids like it, and it was inexpensive (we adopted it from Kids for Keys- a piano rehoming service.) Yes, it's a tile floor. Lots of cracks. Freezing in the winter and has killed most of my china. (Desperately struggling to keep my Pyrex collection alive.) Hi, Cindi ~ Mrs Jo (also known as mearwynnna)

LOL, Mrs Jo, I was just kidding. Old piano player here. It caught my eye right away. I just thought of the weight...I have a bad back from a piano! If it's chest height, it's a console. If it's waist high it's a spinet. If it's neck high it's an upright. Oh and if it's long and flat like a dinner table it's a grand LOL....
Nice wheels though!!!

I don't have a spinning wheel or spindle but love fiber and nice yarn. I have a huge problem, don't I? Need to try a spindle first, I guess.
Love the pics of everyone's wheels.

A few years back I had gotten a CD from that site Muller's Lane Farm. It's pretty good. Gives a nice overview and enough to whet your appetite.

I love my 1982 Ashford Traddy... Simple, but I only have two bobbins for it. Kennedi

I'm up to 4 wheels and 1 electric spinner. Amazing how easy it is to start collecting them!

Hahaha, you can't can you! It's a Heavenly Handspun E-Spinner. Not bad overall, and the bobbins are huge. The sewing machine engine is a little on the noisy side. If I come across a quiter one I'm going to put it on.

I have six wheels, a CPW named Pierre Vezina, an Ashford Elizabeth named Lizzie, a Lithuanian flax wheel named Ana, a German? double flier wheel named Elsa, an American wheel named Martha, and another American wheel who has not told me her/his name yet.
Three of of the wheels need major repairs, but it is funny how emphatic some of these wheels are about their names.

Here are three of mine. I have a Kromski Minstrel, an Ashford Traveller, an antique super slanty. I also have an antique double table and a CPW but the CPW is still at Lexie's place.

Beautiful wheels Kasota!
Oh cool Pitbullmama, you have a Walking Wheel. That is what one of my great Grandmothers used to spin her yarn, so she could woven her stunning blankets.

I haven't 'succumbed' to spinning just yet, but I suspect its not far off. I'd like to try a drop spindle first. I saw this the other day, what do y'all think of it?

Halo, I have seen those before, too. You can also use those old treadle sewing machine bases to hook up to a drum carder!
Thank you Bergere! Now if only I could spin yarn as pretty as my wheels look! I'm learning, though... slowly...but I'm learning!

There's a lady on youtube that spins with one of those. I think she makes rugs.

I think that is an Indian Head flyer ... or a flyer made to look close to one.
I believe Frazzlehead sent Forerunner an Indian Head assembly & I gave him a treadle base from a sewing machine last summer so he could spin his thicker yarns. I don't know if he ever put it together.
