Our house was heated over the years with coal then oil now forced air electric. My neighbor is replacing his coal/wood burner with a boiler and offering the old one to us for cheap. It works well, he has kept it up with many improvements (was a welder by trade) but he needs less dust as he has breathing problems and it's a little undersized for the house anyhow. I'd love to tie it in to our existing system in addition to the electric that's in there to take some of the load off the power. Also with the small generator to run the blower we could still have heat in an outage and that's a load off my mind. The old stovepipe has been closed off for decades but it is in the basement near a main part of the ductwork, where the former heating system must have been. Obviously we'd need to check that over. Anybody have any idea what we'd need to do to get this hooked up?
