Where I start my workday is 8 miles from my house. Down there I have noticed some beautiful Lilacs blooming in a neighbors yard. Here at my house the buds are still tight with no color.
My bees here haven't exploded into the frenzy of activity that signals the coming of The Flow when flowering begins in earnest. Meanwhile, at my mother's house where I keep a hive to entertain her they are going gangbusters. The queen is a sister to my queens and already her hive has been moved from a 5 frame nuc to an 8 frame deep. Then 2 weeks ago I added a second deep.
I suspect I will be splitting this one before too long and using it for grafting more queens. I am so ready for hot and humid weather.
