Rustaholic, I snapped some pics of the rope machine (found it in the blacksmith shop). It was a bit dark in there so I'm not sure of the quality. I'll have to get them off the phone and uploaded to the computer then to the internet then over here. It will happen ... just give me time. Yes, the ice cream was home made using fresh milk and fresh eggs. The custard was cooked the day before and cooled over night. The hand cranked ice cream machine was one my family used back in the 1960's. It's just a 2 quart model with a green fiberglass bucket. We made two batches ... strawberry and choc chip. @trellis, we've done this every year since 2005. It is always the weekend after Father's Day. You have a whole year to plan. One of my old, dear friends who is a professional photographer spent the day snapping photos. She said she'll have them uploaded in a week or two. I'll post the link & password when she gets them posted. I wasn't able to get any photos taken.

I didn't realize I asked for pictures three times.
I really am going to do my best to make it there next year Lord willing and if the creek don't rise. I sure would appreciate sharing a ride if anyone comes from the UP again. Paying for my share of the gas would be a LOT better than having to rent a car. .
