Thanks for putting up this week's tasks, midtnmama! Clean under the bed...wait, that's a storage overflow area! But it's actually well organized, believe it or not. Over the years, we ended up with a vast assortment of little backpacks and duffles from various charities (although I always wish they would stop sending us stuff and just put the money toward whatever charity they are). What's stored under the bed (like sandals in winter) gets stored in the duffles/backpacks. Much easier to find things. I do remove the backpacks once a month and hit anything I can reach with a mop. Living out here in sand land, the dust and grit that end up in the house (and especially UNDER things like beds and dressers) is of epic proportions. The master bathroom tub/shower combo are spotlessly clean. No this is not their normal state. But the day before we went on vacation, we replaced all the caulk (since the tub/shower wouldn't be used in over a week so the caulk could dry). Which meant scrubbing the living daylights out of the tub/shower. And while we were doing that, we realized that the corner organizer (that holds the shampoo, soap, razors, etc.) was beyond help, rusted and full of soap scum. A new one went up in its place. Now if only the rest of the bathroom was in that kind of shape...Oh well. Hopefully it WILL be by the end of the week, provided I stay good with this week's tasks.

Clean under the bed. . . but then I have to rehome the dust bunny colony. . . Actually, I've been meaning to clean under my bed for a few weeks now as I realized with youngest DD gone off to college I can now begin to transition her bedroom (both my dds shared it growing up) into a guest room. And I can store some items, such as my box full of wrapping paper & supplies, under her bed instead of mine!!

Seems like we were just in the master bedroom and here it comes again. Since I was laid up last week, I was able to clean off little things like the bedside table tops, so I guess I'm slightly ahead for the week!
I also took all the tomatoes back out of my garden tub today and got them potted up into 5 gallon buckets, or at least into gallon pots if they were in tiny 4" pots. Cleaned out the tub, and am now ready to move tomatoes back in if a freeze threatens.
Baby steps...my back is hurting tonight, but the heating pad is helping. If it is enough to do the trick, I might just work on the bedroom a bit more tonight. If not, there's always tomorrow!

Checking back in after almost 3 weeks of work. My original intent was to declutter enough to allow me to maintain some sanity now that we're back to homeschooling. I didn't get as much done as I wanted to, but I made a huge difference. I only took a couple totes of stuff out to the barn, everything else I tried to deal with immediately instead of putting it off for later. About the time I was finishing up with that, one of my sons-in-law decided I absolutely had to have a new roof before winter, so he got all the supplies ordered, then family and friends came and worked for three 14 hr days and got a new roof put on. The same son-in-law has since shown up for several 8 hr days since then and made many repairs that badly needed doing. In addition to many plumbing and electrical repairs, he moved my washer and dryer over from the other house so I can do laundry here instead of having go back and forth between the 2 houses. He put in all new faucets, installed a dishwasher, put new lights in the kitchen, fixed my front and back doors, cleaned out my chimney and made innumerable other repairs. What a difference this has made, it will make life so much easier for me. (Not having a husband around to make repairs when things start falling apart is rough!) Between the repairs and getting rid of a large amount of clutter, the place is looking pretty good!

Three large bags of many things went away yesterday. MY sis, family and friends will go thru it and then donate what's left. We like to do that pretty often but I needed to do my closet and got it done. YIPEE! Now on to my fall lists.

Well I missed Monday by being out of town yet again. But we don't have any carpet (except in the mudroom and that will be outta here this winter). I subbed in a good sweep at 3 this morning (thank you, insomnia!) I sweep at least once a day or the grit, gravel and sand sand SAND will scratch the heck out of the hardwood floors. But this time I moved the furniture and did a, what, deep sweep? My husband can sleep through anything so my middle of the night furniture moving didn't disturb him in the least.
Getting rid of things that don't belong in the room is going to take more thought, time, effort...I'm looking around right now and thinking "good grief, how did all this stuff end up here?"

Lol, susannah, I hear ya - I have soooo much stuff parked in my living room that doesn't belong there. Problem is, some of it doesn't really have a home anywhere yet, and I have to figure out where to put it all.

And you can't beat having the W/D in your house.

Today I worked outside...swept out the former rabbit shed and found a hen on a nest in the process, picked up in the hen house and chicken pen, did some straightening up around the front and back door, and put away things that were left outside...time to get things stowed away before the winter rains come.
Also did laundry and worked on the house a bit more, too. Baby steps!
