So my crafty side is kicking in, with the holidays just around the corner. I discovered wine bottle art on pintrest & was thinking of doing some. Has anyone ever done this? Any tips?

We made the candle holders. We cut them in the middle with the glass cutter. It takes two broken bottles to get one good one. ha ha I also want Hubs to make me the wine bottle chandelier I found on there. Better start drinking! ROFL
On a side note, there is a 'design flaw' with our candle holders. The glass makes a hump on the inside. This leaves about 2 inches of unusable candle wax. Most everyone who buys our candles don't care...because they are usually for show, but I use mine and can't stand to waste the wax.

I did see the candle holders, & they are pretty cool. I am thinking of the bottles with a snowman, Santa, the Grinch, & a cardinal. I'd like to try painting these with my girls!

I did this yard art on a 4x4 post that the previous home owners left standing alone "for no reason" by our shop. Kinda messy (not all filled in) but I'd saved pretty blue bottles for years and wanted to Do something with them! I didn't practice,so it's Quite uneven But we enjoy the big splash of color out there! I've been using photo bucket for a couple of months now.

Very simple very cool project. Step One: Find a great bottle, masking tape, and brown shoe polish a couple of good rags (as in won't be using these again) or a roll of paper towels. Use the masking tape to wrap around your bottle covering any labels and such. Next apply shoe polish rubbing it down until the tape begins to look like leather. Let dry over night. Step Two: Find a beautiful live arrangement of flowers or for a more forever feel pick up an interesting silk bouquet
Makes a wonderful gift quick easy and extremely thoughtful.
