What I hate is when people compare the prices I put on mine to the prices people charge for machine quilting. They don't get that it takes months to finish one by hand. They will see people pricing machine quilted quilts for $100-$200 & think I should price mine the same. The tulip applique at the top is a king size & I have $700 on it. I'll probably never sell it, but I am not going to let it go for less than it is worth. I have donated a few to our church for their quilt raffle. I'll do that before I sell them too cheap.

I do mine by machine because A. I'm lazy and B. I want to be able to throw them in the washer and dryer (which probably circles back to A. now that I think about it! lol)

Does anyone here hand quilt? I have done several big quilts & lots of baby quilts. I am working on one that is an applique of dogwood blossoms. I find quilting so relaxing. I love to sit up in the evening & quilt. Here are a few of pics of some that I have done: I have a hand quilting frame but, no I don't hand quilt. I love the look but, it takes so much time. I do applique. Just finished Quilt Mainia's Fa La La La quilt. It's a French Quilting Mag. that had the pattern. Wow! To change meters to inches and such was a pain. I have to figure out how to post it. I also finished Birds of a Feather applique quilt. I called it Birds of a Stinkin Feather for about 2 years. Now that it's finished I like it a bit better. Embroidery is one of the new projects. Crabapple hill has a design called Hook, Line and Sinker. I've finished the other blocks. I'm working on the Creel and poles now. Then put together the center and finish the borders. Quilt it. Oh, another year? I hope not. But......

I don't hand quilt because I don't have the patience, and I have arthritis in my hands among other places, and I have trouble hand sewing. I love your quilts, Wendy. I would probably ask more for your quilts. Sometimes people like to brag about how much they paid for things!

I don't hand quilt anymore either. I had to stop when carpal tunnel got so bad. I've had surgery on both my hands, so the pain from cp is gone but my hands are weak. I have arthritis now too. I just can't manage the tiny stitches and am not happy with less.

I, too, put my hand quilted quilts in the washer and dryer all the time. They would never get washed otherwise.

Wash on a gentle cycle if you have it. I like to hang them out when the weather is nice, but I have put them in the dryer. I always get sad if I think about not being able to quilt. I also milk goats. To not be able to do those things would make me very, very sad.

I hand quilt, hand piece, hand embroider, cross stitch, knit, crochet. Just me, the needle, thread or yarn. I get really zen that way, LOL. I've been knitting all winter but am going to go into cross stitch mode. I am backed up on several projects I want to get done.

I love to sit up in the evening & quilt. Here are a few of pics of some that I have done: I thought about you on my vacation. Found an awesome cross-stitch shop in Gatlinburg called Dixie Darlin. They had a lot of samples made up and I spent way too much money. I special ordered a pattern called Maggie the Messmaker. You should see it. Not a quick pattern by any stretch of the imagination! They had it made up and it is so much prettier than the picture. (My computer won't let me download pics right now, or I would insert it....)
