What are your cleaning and organizing goals for June? Are you focusing on the inside of your home, or is the outside where you need to put your energy this month? Perhaps you are like me, and need BOTH, lol. I kind of fell off the wagon last month, but am hoping to get things organized and back to being neat and tidy enough for me not to mind drop in company. I need to move slowly, do tiny bits at a time, and rest a lot in between, but I'm hoping by the end of June, I'll have much of my stamina back, as the clots dissolve and I can breathe better.

manygoatsnmore, it is understandable why you 'fell off the wagon'. YOU need to take your time.....others of us have no excuse. My focus is on the outside right now. I have so much to tidy up. We are just dragging stuff everywhere. Hubs is mostly guilty of this one. I run around behind him and start putting things away. I'm making my sand pit for garden tools this month. It is a *MUST*. I have a place where they are to be kept, but Hubs keeps putting them in the big barn. Then, I have to run around everywhere to find them. I did get my garage cleaned and organized last month. Hubs just has a door frame to get out of there and it will be presentable. As it is was, I was ashamed to leave the garage door up.

Manygoats: I hope you have a speedy recovery. Maybe you can't exercise, but eat healthfully. I'm moving slowly today (strained back working on the farm) and have a morning to clean and organize. Started the day with yoga and exercise (had not done that in a bit before the injury--need to be consistent)
Anyway, today's exercise will be stretching followed by quick cleaning and putting things away all over the house. Need to get my running shoes ON.
On my list today:
Call cable co about cable being out. Wash two loads of clothes and put away. Unload dishwasher and reload Dust bedroom Work on travel reimbursement for job Spend a little time looking at what needs to be eaten in freezer Spend a little time putting a few things in closet into the giveaway bag
You know those "spend a little time..." things are items I would not have done previously. Unless I had time to do the entire job, I wouldn't start. Flylady taught me differently about doing small amounts always and getting tons done. My home is a testament. Thank you, thank you, thank you, Flylady.

Sorry, posted the list twice.
While I'm here, I want to encourage you to post links to youtube videos or websites that might help folks get their homes cleaned and organized. One of my hobbies is to look at real estate online to see how people have decorated of landscaped their homes. What I notice is that all homes look great when they are clean. So does mine!

Clean does go a long way toward making a house look nice. Today was laundry day - I really needed to spend a day just doing stain removal, washing and drying clothes and getting each load folded and put away as it came out of the dryer. Although it was awfully hot to be heating up the house that way, I am happy to report that I'm down to the last bits and bobs to finish up. In the process, I've also managed to put much of my house in at least semi-order! Still have a long way to go to get things the way I like them, but it's getting better.

Got the floors done this weekend.DH pulled weeds from one of our flower/fig beds. I'll be filling the space with edibles. While unplugging tv/cable box/dvd player found a big mess in a bottom cabinet that should be taken care of. It contains craft projects and books to read. Time to get real there.
Still have these to go: kitchen floor to wash. Focusing on putting things in the goodwill bag. Put away clean clothes. Cardio exercise Package lunches to go to DH and My work freezers for the week, freeing up space here. Inventory of what is in freezers to use up!

I too am trying the small bites approach since what I have been doing is not working. So this morning while it was cooler I washed the two dining area Windows inside and out. Washed the kitchen window on the outside. Have been working on clutter. A never ending task for me. So my goal for June is to get all the windows washed. 2 down, 18 to go.

When I wash the floor, (if I don't do it on my hands and knees) I put two damp inside out black tube socks on my swiffer mop (used only for cleaning) and push around the floor an inside out plush side sweatshirt that has been wetted by a sinkful of ammonia and a bit of dish detergent. When done, I take the damp mop with socks on it and quickly run it under furniture and along baseboards. Then I take off the socks and wash for next time.

I've been working in the bedroom this week because the cable tv guy had to come out. because the plugs are under cabinets, I had to clean those out as well. It yielded two big bags of books to sell, one bag of trash and various and sundry things that needed to go elsewhere (crafts) or at least be stored in a way that would make it easy to find (clear boxes?) I was proud of myself that I'd stored sturdy shopping bags with handles there to eventually clean them out. Well, I only got 80 percent done, but that still is quite a lot! Got a lot of weeding done outside and the mowing done. That weeding made room for some flowers and herbs that I'll put in their places. Vacuumed the house.Cleaning will go by the wayside as I try to keep up with the garden and putting up food we grow. What are you getting done? manygoatsnmore, farmchix, Melissa, midtnmama, ketoriverfarm,

I have to admit, I'm not getting much done. I considered it a great accomplishment to re-make my bed (didn't even get the sheets changed) yesterday so I could sleep without getting tangled in my top sheet. I overdid it during the week and have been trying to recuperate ever since. Oh, I did sweep most of my bedroom floor while I was making the bed and I washed a few dishes that I use for my own mini-meals....hey, every little bit counts, right?

I've been busier than a one-armed paperhanger. I've been wheelbarrowing wood chips from wood chip mountain to the garden. I had already planted four different kinds of tomatoes, plus husk cherries and tomatillos. I didn't get my peppers started, so I just figured no peppers this year. Macedonian neighbor came over Saturday evening and brought me more tomatoes. In his culture, if I had told him "no thank you", it is a sign of disrespect. So, yesterday I planted another row of tomatoes. He was planting peppers from 'the old country' and called Hubs to come over. Hubs told him he would take 10 of the pepper plants. (He had extras and wanted me to plant some.) Hubs came home with 50 pepper plants. I got those planted Sunday. I put more compost on some of my tomatoes and the asparagus beds. We cleared a little more sod from part of the garden--talk about hard work--and had to till, etc. that area to plant the aforementioned peppers. I did get a little cleaning done on Saturday, but one of our daughters came out with two of the grandkids, so not too much outside. Took the granddaughter out to show her where her fruits come from and to play with the chickens. (Grandson can't touch them, as he has started a new medical regimen that has his immunity down--he is the terminally ill one.) Granddaughter told me how much she loved my chickens and fruit. She was just too precious. I got some of the mowing done, basically the front yard and front field, but had to stop so I could make chicken and dumplings for Sunday dinner. Mom, daughter-in-law and granddaughter came for Sunday dinner. It was the first of one of the chickens we processed. I have to go to work at my big girl job today so I can get some rest!

farmchix,: I am just gutted to hear about your grandson. I'm sorry if I have missed this in your postings. I am going to keep him in my prayers and hope you will let us know his progress. Drs don't know everything, keep looking and hoping. Wish I had a macedonian neighbor! They really know their tomatoes and peppers in that region! I will confess that outside of normal kitchen cleaning, I missed the flylady kitchen missions as I was putting out fires in the bedroom, dining room and garden. We are doing massive weeding (and putting the pile in the chicken coop for more omega 3s in our eggs and something fun for the chickens to do when cooped up (see what I did there?) I ate one of my frogs (things you delay and delay doing) which was to really scrub the dining room floor where I had plants with aphids on them during the winter which meant the floors were sticky in those corners. I bought orange glo and boy howdy does that work well. I'm now a fan. My goal is to pull something out of my closet that isn't worn anymore each time I go into it. Doing the same in my dresser drawers.

midtnmama, he is 16 months old. He was born with polycystic disease, which in and of itself is 'terminal'. He started out with 1 cyst on his kidney. By the time he was 3 months old, there were too many to count. These cysts will multiply and eventually target all of his organs. Polycystic disease research has come a long way in the past few years, so we are somewhat ignoring that prognosis. If they can't find a viable treatment, he will eventually need dialysis and a transplant. He also has another condition, I can never remember the name of it....sounds like alphabet soup to me...LLCD or something like that. His abdomen retains fluid--so much fluid that he has to be drained daily. He has been hospitalized numerous times because the fluid was collapsing his lung. There have only been 40-50 cases of this diagnosed since they started keeping track in 1875 and never in a child. After sending his charts and case to numerous hospitals, my step-daughter has been told that the best they can do is track the treatments they give him to help another child in the future. He just started a trial treatment that completely annialates (sp?) his immunity. He cannot be around germs. He does not go to daycare and has a nanny. To look at him, you would never guess he is sick. He has a drainage tube under his arm into his chest that needs to be replaced every quarter as he grows. He is such a happy fella and doing what normal toddlers do. We call him our miracle baby. We know we will get a miracle to cure him.

Thought of these two cleaning and organizing tips I do:
I use shoeboxes to organize my drawers. Great for socks and great in the bathroom for separating nail polish, for instance, from tubes of lotion, sunscreen, antibacterial cream....
I wash my lunch boxes with my laundry. --------------- Did something that was on my to do list: De wormed the dogs and cats and marked it on the calendar for the next time. -------------- We are planning to use a big travel reimbursement check to make all of our Charitable contributions for the year at one time. Saves the hassle of remembering if you did or didn't. Then we can save the information for taxes at one time and one place rather then trying later to piece it together. We used to struggle where to put receipts. Now we just have a drawer because it's easier to just chuck them in there throughout the year then have them stashed here and there waiting for the time to put in a file...
