The big pasture is starting to look nice and grassy, but I'm hesitant to put them out there until the Katie and Janelle get to it... I don't want to be hunting for lambs over hill and dale. (You'd be surprised how much up and down fits in 5 acres.)

Janelle had twins, one ram and one ewe. I had to leave town for 18 hours, so of course that made it a good day to lamb. I got home found one lamb still damp, the other lamb on the wrong side of the fence. (It seems Janelle decided to move between the birth of the two lambs, and we have a confusing pasture layout that eventually is getting torn up by the posts.) The seperated lamb wasn't immediately successful at nursing upon reunion, but a bit of jug time straightened things out before I could convince hubby to help get the milking stand set up.

Glad everything worked out. Some of those ewe's seem to like to keep things interesting.

Congrads on the twins, thud on the babies getting seperated but happy to hear that all worked out in the end I have had it go both ways and BB's are not my thing but seem to get stuck with several every lambing season!

I really can't afford a bottle lamb while working full time, too far away to bop home for lunch. Katie is the last one that has not lambed, she's not so wide, probably a single, but she is somewhat bagged up and swollen in the back. Last year she didn't bag up a whole lot before lambing.

Katie looks like she has a little time left before she goes As for the BB's I use the lamb bar or one would say bucket and put two meals worth in it at a time, one meal being their breakfast and enough for lunch, then when I get off work I wash bucket and feed them two meals worth again, one being supper and enough left for a night time meal, of course when lambing while weather is cold not worried about milk spoiling and they get their CDT earlier then the ones that are raised by moms, but we feed the milk cold so that helps keep them from overeating as well. If you have summer babies that are on the bucket you would feed milk cold and also add a frozen bottle (like a 16 oz pop bottle) of ice to help keep it cold and keep from spoiling...

Hard to tell with Katie, last year both she and Janelle were hard to tell if they were pregnant and suddenly had lambs. This year Janelle was a beach ball so I was pretty sure she had twins on board.
Poor Janelle is not happy about being stuck in the barn, but it's just too hard to get individual feed for her after she mixes with the rest of the flock.

Girl. We probably won't keep her though. Katie has never had twins to my knowledge, and is not registered.
