I still have to finish the toes (one big toe then room for the other toes) of DD's crazy sampler socks ... I started it but put the big toe on the wrong side. Since I'm going to be making a couple more of these crazy sampler socks (using neon yarn & every 6-15 rows is a different pattern) I may just leave it and say I have 2 right socks completed.

Oh, your socks are so wonderful! Beautiful and functional. Nick and I love them. Wait. We love YOU, we really enjoy the socks you made for us. I say go for two right socks.

My needles have been bare too much stress. Maybe I'll cast on later and see if I can do moss stitch.

I’m trying to finish up a lace sock for DD’s best friend. Fridays a few of us get together and knit. Last Friday, I knew I’d mess up the sock so brought along different yarn and started a hat for the Christmas mitten tree. Finished it Friday night, just have to cast off.

I have the collar done for a Barn Sweater (pattern from Taproot Magazine but can be found on Ravelry too). Had planned to work on more of the sweater this week, but, well, ended up spending a whole lot of time reading stuff on the computer instead.

Congrats! The reason I learned to knit was so I could make socks. Everyone in my family who knits thinks I'm insane for using such 'tiny needles and skinny yarn' (they all like worsted and bulky yarn), but boy, do they love wearing my creations! Like mullerslanefarm said, once you wear those, you'll be hooked. Nothing in the world like the feel of handknit socks. (Betcha can't guess what's on my feet right now. . . )

I have several projects on the needles as we speak. I just need to knit 4 rows of ribbing and that shrug will be done. I am on the second sock for my husband, just finishing up the heel. I have a knitted afghan that my mother started before she died. It needs another 10 inches to be completed. I have a crotched summer shawl in progress. And today I just printed off instructions for the Speckled Shrug on Ravelry. Spring is making me want to start on something new.
I should be lambing in about a week. So I need something really mindless to work on when I am sleeping in the barn. Susan

I am working on my first 'real' crochet project.. a triangle shawl. I am using thrift store yarn, a Bernat made in Switzerland. It's a 'frosting' in pearl. I was surprised that it is variegated in pearls.. grey pearl and a cream pearl and a light sandy color. Just lovely.

I am about to start working on a nap. That is where I'm headed .... already told Paul and rental boy (FR's son) that we're having leftovers tonight for dinner.
I started the cardigan and now it's time to have a Sunday siesta

I am working on 2 pairs of socks. I started one pair but then got some other yarn and some new needles and of course I couldn't wait to try either so I started the second pair.

I'm working on knitting panels for a blanket for the bed. Not sure yet how I'm going to connect them, but this is a much bigger project than I originally anticipated! I doubt I'll be finished before fall.

Just received the 4 skeins of sock yarn I ordered. It looks so intimidating being such fine weight yarn.. but I am determined to make some beautiful socks! I have only made socks with worsted weight up to now, so wish me luck!

The hubby almost walked into my spare bedroom...or what he thinks is the spare room. Whew!! Close call. I've been knitting up a storm ever since. My 14 yr old son loves those dead fish hats. He has 7 of them now. I am making one for every season and holiday. I barely finished his 4th of July one in time for him to leave for a school choir trip to Washington DC trip. I just started his Easter fish tonight. Since I can do those in my sleep, I also picked up a few skeins of handspun yarns. I'm doing some mindless tube cowls out of those. I love cowls. And I started a pair of mittens with Herons on them in Feb. Unfortunately, I made a teeny little mistake that's causing me some distress. I'll decide what to do with them later. It's past the birthday of the friend they were intended for anyway! Can we post pictures here? I don't have any....just want to know.

I am reknitting the Rosamond socks for the my sock Knit-a-long swap partner. My first pair, after soaking, somehow grew to epic proportions. I knit them for a size 6.5 woman's foot and they ended up fitting my friend that is a size 11!!! Yes, I have knitted dozens of socks and still find new ways to mess things up! I begged my swap buddy for a little more time and those are the socks I am working on right now. IMPORTANT KNITTING TIP!If you get colored needles, do NOT get them in your favorite color - because knitting with yarn and needles the exact same color is not easy -especially at night.

I am working on a Shetland shawl called the Unst Bridal Shawl, and I finally have enough done to take a picture. I think it will take me a few months to finish the center. Attachments:

I'm still slogging through that flamepoint cloth. Ugh! With all the problems I'm about ready to hurl the loom into the fireplace and fix myself a nice cup of hot chocolate.

The 'create' bug bit me again. Not doing any weaving. Just sold the Artisat so before I move the Nilus into the room I'm gonna revisit the old Weaver's Delight and see if I can't get him warped up for a rag rug. Maybe even rag rug place mats. Start simple. Meanwhile, I was looking for a way to wind some of these very large skeins onto balls to go onto bobbins. I decided to make a squirrel cage skein winder. Primitive....crude.....all hand tools and a little Hobby Lobby and Viola! Gonna soak this puppy up with lots of stain and oil then some dark varnish. Oh KKB, so sorry to hear that. It's such a beautiful pattern too. Keep at it! Don't let it beat you. It can be done and you can do it! I understand the frustration tho. Sometimes I don't get a handle on what I'm doing until I'm almost finished! Then it's like....well should I try this one more time now??? LOL

Finishied my first pair of socks yesterday afternoon. That Kitchener Stitch gets me every time. Socks don't look to bad for my first socks I've ever knitted even tho I did end up with a small hole in the end of the sock and I think that came from me doing the last decrease stitch at the wrong place, I got lost. I know, how can a person get lost with that few of stitches left to decrease ... I managed. I will post a picture of them. Last evening I started on the same pattern but this time I'm making them a little bit longer so they go up my leg a little bit farther. P.S. Thanks Marchwind for the tip about knitting on the needle closets to me. I didn't have to turn this sock right side out like the first one when I did the Kitchener Stitch.
