I don't know how it is where all of you are, but around here, sugar beets are being harvested.
Last year, we were driving where a number of them fell off trucks, stopped and picked up a box full.
Each evening, I'd cut a slice for each goat. They loved them.

Sugar beets are mangels with a higher sugar content. When I offered mangel seed on HT, I believe that everyone who ordered them had goats. Used to be common in this country but mangels are still a winter food for all livestock in parts of Europe.

Up in scotland they use "stuble turnips" which are a type of mangel as grazing for sheep, no need to even harvest! And yes, even my ducks are getting mangles for dinner.
