Mari-in-IN, just my double vision before my morning coffee? Hey-No Prob! I just changed my handle a bit to make it easier to read!! Should have done it a while ago...I'm thinking I need a copy of a recipe for "steamed pudding"-how about you?

I like to cook on the stove, but reheat in the microwave. We cook large batches, so there is a lot of reheating for later meals. I think mollymckee pretty much covered the ways I use mine.

I have many cooking items, for the micro-wave and use often. Love to use the steamer. Fresh broccoli and green beans are great. I also can grill in mine and also have a pan, that I heat up, then put a piece of cooked pizza on, to re-heat. Crust is crisp and top nice and hot. I also have a micro-wave pressure cooker. Does a good job, for a fast meal. There's so many new products out there. Would miss having mine.

Yuppers, use it daily - mainly for reheating things and some cooking.
Living alone, I'm not really into cooking anymore.

We use ours mainly for reheating leftovers. And since I have this idea that my coffee must be blistering hot, I tend to pour a cup then heat it in the microwave for 30 seconds. Dh is constantly shaking his head about that one.

My microwave is mostly used for reheating small amounts of leftovers. Anything over 1 cup in size I prefer to reheat on the stove. IMHO, the microwave definitely changes the flavor and texture of food (usually not for the better) and I am suspicious of nutrient loss too.

Don't have one. Haven't had one for 10 yrs. I probably would have one if: 1)I had room for it in my kitchen and 2) I could find one that would last longer than a month.

Ours came in handy last night - new people moved in nextdoor- and DH and I said feel free to borrow anything while you are getting settled- the wife walked over with the 2 yr old asking to use the microwave to do one of those birdseye steamed rice bags- ACKK! I totally obliged- but will be schooling her on bulk jasmine rice and the beauty of it's taste and how much cheaper it is LOL

One. We don't have the counter space either.

Haven't owned one at home in decades. Did have them at work, but honestly, I think the only thing they do better than a pan on the stove is reheat rice. Not worth owning one. I was looking for that choice in the poll: Don't have one, don't want one, don't need one.

I would never use ours. DH heats in it occasionally, but we haven't used it in months. I would love to get rid of it because it takes up such a big foot print in the kitchen.

We have a small on and it is on a bakers rack with a toaster oven on the next up shelf . It is used daily to reheat since usually daughter reheats whatever I might cook while she is at work. I do use it to melt butter and to bake a potatoe..since potatoes are so easy for me to eat . I do not like meat reheated in them tho . I do use it to heat meals from the store if I cant do them in my toaster oven as well..

I use mine only for reheating and popping pop corn in the popper. Can't wait till it quits, I'll either get a smaller one or none at all.

I use mine all the time for steaming veggies and the kids are always using it to heat up what I've canned. I don't defrost in it. I find it a handy gadget to have around.

Have a Microwave oven here, comes in handy to thaw meat out, make popcorn, re-heat things and so on. I don't like to cook in it though... do not like how the food turns out. OK.. except the micro wave cake, in a coffee cup... that I do like. LOL

I use mine daily. in fact I have 3. one in the den, one in the family room and another in the kitchen. i only have a straight microwave and only reheat and bake potatoes etc. when I had my microwave convection I would bake pies, roasts etc. like Rae, I don't worry about it. ~Georgia

I have never owned one, ask my wife way back when if the wanted one she said "what for", I told her I didn't really know so we never got one and now it is just me, what the heck do I need one for? Popcorn, make it on the stove in the old stainless pan my Momma made it in, leftovers, pop um in the over for a bit.

So conflicted on this one. I have Alzheimer's running strong in the gene pool, so I have to avoid them for what I think is their best use: popping popcorn. We no longer have one in the kitchen. Warming lunch right on the range is just as fast as the nuker. We do have one plugged in downstairs that is a circa 1980 model for emergency use. When I hit the 'start' button, I cover my privates and run screaming into the next room.

I use ours every day to store our bread in. I rarely use it to cook anything in. The taste leaves something left to be desired.
